Declan Donnelly surprises co-star Ant McPartlin with a hilarious gift after suffering fall on stage

Declan Donnelly surprised his co-star Ant McPartlin with a hilarious gift after falling painfully on stage during Monday’s Britain’s Got Talent semi-final.

Fans were in shock during the live episode when Ant’s feet slipped right out from under him and he slammed to the floor in a hilarious entrance.

And although he recovered in time to host the second night’s semi-final the following night, his co-host Dec was on hand to support him after his unfortunate accident.

Dec posted a video to their shared Facebook account surprising Ant with a crafty cup holder — known as a “SpillNot.”

The quirky device consists of a curved plastic arm and nylon carrying strap attached to a flat base, creating the perfect balance to prevent spills.

Dec revealed his gift to Ant and said, “Are you okay?” I got you a little present after you had some panties last night.”

Ant replied, ‘Oh here we go, here we go. What is it, is it a connection? A Hansaplast is it?’

Smiling, Dec continued, “No… I was just thinking that if you had a hot drink with you, it could have been a catastrophe.”

“Well, obviously,” Ant acknowledged.

Dec continued, “So I’ve got this kind of safety thing for you so you can carry your tea and you never spill a drop.”

Ant unveiled the device and was left in shock.

Smiling, he gasped, “No way! What! Oh my God.

‘Even I can’t make a mess of it. Yes!’

But as Ant grew more and more excited about his new gift, he began testing the thing by swinging it in circles around him.

Ant swung the device around and then dropped the mug containing a cup of hot tea, which spilled all over and smashed around him.

Disappointed that his gift didn’t quite work out, Dec said, “I still have the receipt, I’ll take it back.”

The morning after Ant’s fall, his co-presenter Dec admitted that he was ‘nearly wet’ with laughter after Ant slipped while walking onto the stage following a performance by former BGT Diversity winners.

On Tuesday morning, Dec uploaded a video to the couple’s joint Instagram account where he couldn’t resist poking fun at his co-host.

To the camera he said, ‘Well, did you see that fall? I nearly wet myself and farted at the same time. Let’s see what he’s like. How are you?’

He then walked into the next room where Ant was sitting, with the star replying, “I can hear you, shut up!” Quiet! I’m resting. I rest my back.’

‘How are you?’ asked Dec.

“What do you mean, how am I? It’s a little painful,’ Ant said.

“I’m not surprised,” Dec said, laughing.

Ant replied, “It was fine, I think the adrenaline will get you through it and now it’s kind of like ‘ooh, I think I need some ice on that'”.

Dec asked, “Are you okay?” are you here tomorrow?

Reassuring fans that he was fine and would be back for the next semi-final, Ant said, “I’ll be here tomorrow.”

Dec replied, “Thank God for that, I’m not doing it alone.”

Meanwhile, the Britain’s Got Talent Twitter account also confirmed that Ant was fine, tweeting, “Don’t worry, Ant is fine!”

The first live semi-final kicked off with Ant and Dec introducing the four judges, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli.

They then surprised the audience with their special guests, 2009 BGT Diversity winners performing on stage.

At the end, the leader of the dance group Ashley Banjo ran forward as Ant and Dec came running towards him.

But Ant’s feet slipped and he hit the ground in a hilarious entrance.

The judges burst into laughter when Ant stood up again and Dec asked if he was okay.

He replied, “I wet myself and farted at the same time!”

Laughing at the blunder, the hosts made their way to the judges to talk before the show.

Amanda didn’t hesitate and asked Ant, “Is your coccyx okay?”

He assured her he was fine and Simon joked that this was the comedy duo’s best entrance yet.

Dec took the opportunity after the break to reenact the fall in slow motion, much to Ant’s dismay.

Ant joked, “I’m making a claim! That was a very slippery stage.’

Dec added, “You’d better become a lawyer.”

Viewers at home couldn’t help but react to the hilarious moment and took to Twitter to express their amusement.

One quipped, “Ant just hit the Dec.”

Another asked, “I hope you’re well, Ant?”

A third praised: “Poor ant! He’s handled it so well because of the pain and embarrassment of everyone who milks it.”

A fourth added, “People who fall on live TV will always be funny, idc.”

And a fifth agreed, writing, “Ant just absolutely disapproved of it live on TV.”
