Women share the worst travel destinations they would never go back to

Avid travelers share the countries, towns and cities they have visited and will never return to.

From Switzerland to China and even Thailand, women are warning people not to travel to destinations they wish they could leave immediately upon arrival.

One woman said LA was “dirty and hot and smelly and horrible,” while another said she was “extremely bored” in Malta and a third said she “cried all the time” she was in Amsterdam.

“Have you ever visited a country where you hated it and for the first few days all you could think about was leaving for another destination?” one traveler asked in a post on a Facebook group.

The question sparked a wave of responses, with hundreds sharing where they had their worst travel experiences.

One adventurer said she would never go back to London because: ‘there are so many pickpockets. I opened my wallet and stole my wallet, everything happened in 10 seconds.”

Another said she “felt unsafe” in Berlin as a solo female traveler and was “scared all the time.”

“Mine was Ireland, I really wanted to love it but it just wasn’t for me,” added another.

Someone said that while it was an “unpopular opinion,” she found many locals in Thailand’s Phuket “rude” and said it was “very westernized.”

“We can sit it out or lose $2,000 by taking an earlier flight home…we chose to lose $2,000 because we hated it so much,” she said.

Sydney was not a popular destination for a Perth traveler due to ‘the constant rain, no hot summers, expensive parking, hard to get anywhere because it’s so big and takes so long’.

“Bars and clubs close so early, the nightlife was not good at all,” she added.

One woman said she “cried all the time” being in Amsterdam, claiming that it was very expensive and that everyone was “so rude” to her and made comments about her large body.

“People would come up to me and say things to me about my size,” she said.

Another rude city according to group members was the Greek capital Athens.

“Everyone was extremely aggressive and rude for no reason. Trying to drive up prices,” said one, and another agreed, “Same! when I was in Athens with a friend when I was 21, we were constantly yelled at and stared at by men!’.

“For me it was Malta, it’s a small island and we were pretty bored and Mexico, I didn’t feel safe there at all,” one woman wrote.

“From the moment I stepped into Switzerland I think I was just unlucky and everything went wrong for me. The country is beautiful but very expensive and I didn’t really feel the connection with the culture or the places I visited’, a second agrees.

China, especially Beijing. I visited my family when I was about 14/15 and I felt very uncomfortable all the time, people were taking pictures of me,” a third added.

Singapore was another no-go travel destination for a woman who said she felt there wasn’t much to do and it was very pricey.
