- It is believed that Rashford will soon sign a new contract to stay with the Red Devils
Marcus Rashford has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Season at the club’s end-of-year awards.
The striker has scored 30 goals in 55 appearances so far this season in a sparkling return to form after a difficult few years and took home the top prize on Monday night.
United have one game left this season, with the Red Devils taking on local rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.
A win would earn the club a domestic cup double after winning the Carabao Cup earlier this year, and Rashford is expected to play a key role in play under the arch.
He also won the Players’ Player of the Year award at the ceremony, where manager Erik ten Hag gave a speech about how he wanted to improve and take the club forward.

The fact that Rashford accepts the trophy indicates that he has won the award for the first time, which is called the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Season award.
His goal this season is his best result of his career, with the 25-year-old scoring 123 goals for United since his debut after working his way through the academy.
He is the first player to graduate from United’s academy to win the award since Ryan Giggs in 1998.
He earned his way back to Gareth Southgate’s England side with his return to form and finished the World Cup as England’s joint top goalscorer, striking three times.
On winning the awards, Rashford said: ‘Definitely a feeling of pride, it’s been a long time since an academy player has won this award so I feel a huge sense of pride.
“I just hope more youth players go through and win this award and feel what I feel on the podium right now. I’m very happy, very satisfied, and I want to say a huge thank you to my teammates and staff, because without them pushing you every day in training, you don’t get to see the best version of me.
“I appreciate you all and thank you very much.”
He also tweeted: ‘What an incredible honor to win both the Sir Matt Busby and Player’s Player Of The Year awards tonight. Having the support of both the fans and my teammates means a lot – I couldn’t do it without you all.
‘Thank you to the manager and all the staff for their phenomenal help’
United activated a clause earlier this season to extend Rashford’s contract until 2024 and Ten Hag revealed he expects his player to sign a new contract soon.

The Dutchman also said he wants to further improve United after a successful first year in charge.
“We’ve seen it before the season, after the start of the season, and where we came from – we’re happy, we’re on the right track, but satisfied? No, we are not,” he said in his speech at the ceremony.
‘It has to be better, that’s always the case. We have a foundation, we have a good foundation. But we must do better. This season we have one more game to go and it’s a great opportunity to take the next big step.
Antony, meanwhile, won the Goal of the Season award for his goal against Barcelona in the Europa League.
