Kerry Katona went viral on Twitter on Monday for being featured on Good Morning Britain as a ‘parenting expert’.
The 42-year-old mother of five spoke about online trolling and admitted she expects her five children to deal with it on their own.
The star, who was initially married to Westlife singer Brian McFadden from 2002 to 2006 and has Molly, 21, and Lilly-Sue, 20, but later got Heidi, 16, and Max, 15, with second husband Mark Croft and also has a nine-year-old daughter DJ with the late George Kay – has given her children public profiles online and wants them to understand how to take responsibility for themselves.
She said, “I think a lot of it is about your own guidance and how you teach your kids about consequences and responsibility, so for me, being who I am, I’ve made sure my kids have a public account.”

“If my kids, like my Heidi, have her GCSE exams at the moment, she knows she needs to get off social media herself and do her revision. And she’s doing great. She got six A’s in her mocks.
‘I don’t control her on what she does, she knows right and wrong. She’s grown up now, so when she leaves home, she’ll have to figure out for herself what to do in life. I won’t always be there.’
She continued, “My nine-year-old got a certificate from school about responsibilities and how well she is doing. She got star of the day and she is on social media.
“I don’t have time to say ‘Get rid of this,’ I’m there to teach them and they have to do it themselves.”
