First Love Island star REVEALED

The first Love Island stars to move into the villa next month have been revealed.

The ITV2 reality show returns on June 5 and with a week to go, it’s been revealed that Ruchee Gurung, a 24-year-old beautician from Sutton, and Tyrique Hyde, a 24-year-old semi-pro footballer from Essex, are heading to the villa.

Already shaping up to be every inch the islander, Ruchee regularly shares sizzling snaps on Instagram, listing her name as Wawo, and has changed her biography on the photo-sharing site to read: “I’m off to find love in the @ love island villa!’

Speaking of the show, she said, “I’m single and looking for love, and it’s the perfect opportunity for me to find someone… I’m a relationship type girl, but it hasn’t worked out so far. So I’m looking forward to finding the right person in the Villa.’

Tyrique, meanwhile, said about entering the villa that he was ready for love.

When asked how she would “peck” herself into letting someone date her, Ruchee said, “I’m really caring, when I’m with someone I’m all for them…

‘I’m also very loyal and love to do nice things for the people that are special to me. My love language is gift-giving, so I’m a true giver when it comes to relationships.”

When the announcement was shared on Love Island’s official Instagram page, a large number of fans raved about the fact that there would be Asian representation in the show, which has been widely criticized for its lack of diversity in the past.

Delighted fans wrote, “QUEENIE, finally some Asian representation… FINALLY ASIAN REPRESENTATION… Omg she’s beautiful, we got some Asian representation here… Asian representation on the show.”

‘I also get the creeps when I see a man wearing white jeans and red sneakers. Another is super skinny jeans if they look like leggings. Fashion is so important to me. If I go on a date and the guy isn’t wearing something I like, then I go home.”

Tyrique is also a prolific social media user and is even followed by former star of the show Danica Taylor and TOWIE star Chloe Brockett.

Maya Jama will be back as host after her huge success in the winter version of the show, which saw Sanam Harrinanan and Kai Fagan crowned winners.

Back! The first Love Island star to move into the villa next month has been revealed

In the summer version, a new group of singles will travel to Mallorca and stay in a luxury villa for two months.

Maya took over from Laura Whitmore to present series nine of the reality show.

A TV source told The Sun: ‘ITV has already lined up with the islanders heading to the show’s villa in Mallorca. The cast will leave at the end of next month, ready for the show to begin in just eight weeks.”

They continued, “Maya [Jama] can’t wait to get started on this series. Having her on board has given Love Island a real boost and the ratings are expected to skyrocket.”

Love Island currently airs twice a year on ITV2 and they are also preparing to air a middle aged version of the show called The Romance Retreat.

Love Island starts on Monday 5 June at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
