Kmart shopper Love Island star Eliza Kennedy spots rabbit in Australian store

Kmart shopper sees ‘live pet’ in store and has no idea what to do – before capturing the moment live on video: ‘Where’s the owner?’

  • A Kmart customer saw a live rabbit in the store
  • She was concerned and kept an eye on the owners

An ex-reality TV star was stunned at what to do after seeing a live rabbit casually sitting on boxes at her local Kmart store.

Eliza Kennedy, who took part in season three of Love Island Australia, was out shopping when she came across the black and white pet.

Although the animal didn’t seem to be bothered, Eliza wondered where the owners were and pulled out her phone to start recording.

“Guys, I’m in Kmart, and there’s a bunny here,” she said in a TikTok video.

‘It’s a real rabbit. I think it’s real. What? Whose rabbit is this?’

When she zoomed in on the camera, she saw that the rabbit’s nose started to twitch and she knew it was a living animal and not a stuffed animal.

‘It is real. That is real. Oh my god, someone is picking up their rabbit at Kmart,” she continued.

The video has now been viewed more than 300,000 times and fellow animal lovers have also expressed concern.

“Please tell me you kept it and didn’t leave it there,” one woman wrote, another added: “This is so sad, I would take it.”

“I feel so sorry for it,” a third added.

A Kmart employee also noted that they have seen live pets in the store before.

“I work at Kmart and I have seen dogs, cats, birds, lizards…,” the employee wrote.

However, in a follow-up video, Eliza explained and confirmed that the owners were not far away at the store.

“Okay guys, update on the bunny. I know everyone is very invested in this,” she said.

“I did a few laps around the rabbit area and looked like an absolute nut.

“But I was just berating everyone by saying, ‘Is that your bunny?’ Are you the parent?’

“Anyway, the parents were there. It was a couple, and they picked up the bunny, put it on their shoulder, and walked through Kmart.

‘I find it very bizarre. Like I said, people are f****** weird.”
