Sunrise presenter David ‘Kochie’ Koch made the shocking announcement Monday morning that he is leaving the hit show after 21 years to spend more time with his family.
Kochie, 67, has four children with his wife of 44, Libby, daughters Samantha, 42, Bree, 38, and Georgina, 32, and son Alexander, 35.
David’s handsome son Alexander ‘AJ’ Kochie is just as business savvy as his iconic father, but likes to work behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera.
He spent 12 years as general manager for Kochie-founded Pinstripe Media, a popular financial publishing and content agency.
With a full head of jet black hair and matching beard, AJ is the spitting image of his father at a younger age.

He’s set his social media to private and rarely appears in public, though Kochie proudly posted some heartwarming snaps to Facebook from his son’s 2018 wedding.
AJ was a smashing figure in a beautifully tailored gray suit on his wedding day as he married his fiancee Carrie, in an intimate ceremony attended by Kochie and his family.
It comes after Kochie shocked viewers when he announced Monday morning that he is leaving the breakfast show after 21 years.
He spent 12 years as general manager for Kochie-founded Pinstripe Media, a popular financial publishing and content agency.
Following the surprise announcement, the 67-year-old revealed that he is walking away from the hit show to focus on his own business.
He also wants to enjoy more flexible working hours to spend time with his growing family.
“It’s time for me to work office hours and for [wife] Libby and I to have a little more flexibility to enjoy our fast-growing family, to travel and to focus on the interests of our family businesses in Pinstripe Media and the Ausbiz corporate channel,” he told viewers.

“As everyone knows, I’m a finance nerd, so you’ll still occasionally see me show up at RBA board meetings or cover other big financial news, but as a guest rather than a host.”

The longest-serving TV presenter in Australian history made the shocking announcement, alongside his emotional co-host Natalie Barr.
“I’ve loved every minute of it and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved here over the last 21 years,” Kochie told viewers.
