Talent agency that dropped Phillip Schofield after 35 years employs his daughter Molly

Phillip Schofield’s talent agency of 35 years, who dropped him yesterday after confessing to his affair, is hiring his daughter Molly as senior talent manager.

The former This Morning host admitted to lying to bosses, his agents, the media and ‘most importantly’ his family about cheating on his wife with a much younger man on the show, whom he had met in his teens.

YMU Agency employs Schofield’s eldest daughter, 29-year-old Molly, who has worked as an agent for ITV stars including Stacey Solomon during her nearly eight years with the company.

It counts Ant and Dec, Claudia Winkleman and Davina McCall among its clients and is often described as the real force behind ITV. A star no longer in the ranks is Holly Willoughby, who cashed in £1 million in a dispute with the agency last year.

Bosses at YMU issued a scathing statement in the wake of Schofield’s revelation yesterday, suggesting that Phillip betrayed their trust and has since deleted his profile from their website.

In a statement, YMU Group CEO Mary Bekhait said, “Honesty and integrity are core values for the entire YMU business and define everything we do.

‘Talent management is a relationship based entirely on trust.

“This week we learned important new information about our client Phillip Schofield.

“These facts contradicted what Phillip had previously told YMU, as well as the outside consultants we engaged to support him.

“That’s why we agreed on Thursday to say goodbye to Phillip with immediate effect.”

The company dramatically cut ties with Schofield, who was previously reported to be a shareholder and “major player” in the group.

It is unknown if Molly Schofield will continue to work at the agency, where she started as a PA in 2015.

She rose through the ranks, becoming an assistant talent manager in less than a year before becoming a senior agent in 2020.

Losing the support of the global talent firm, which represents more than 1,000 entertainers, athletes and musicians, must have been a major blow to Molly’s father.

Without the slick PR pros he’s come to rely on throughout his long career, and in the wake of this new statement, the chances of Schofield returning to the small screen any time soon look bleak.

YMU Group previously represented Schofield’s former friend and co-host of 13 years Holly Willoughby.

The couple’s now strained relationship reportedly first began when Holly left the agency, citing the “blokey” culture, and started her own women-only company Roxy Management.

However, her relationship with her old management became fraught when they became embroiled in a legal battle over her future earnings.

The case was settled out of court, with Holly pocketing £1 million from YMU, with the dispute reportedly sparking a series of divisions between her and Schofield.

Phillip would be a shareholder in the company The sun previously reported that it made £1 million off them and is a ‘big player’ in the group.

In a statement through his lawyers, Schofield said, “I am deeply sorry that after 35 years of flawlessly running YMU, I have agreed to step down from their representation with immediate effect.”

YMU Group has been contacted for comment.
