FBoy Island contestant Ziara Rae says men fetishize her skin color and she is often assaulted in Australia because of her race

Host of the new Binge reality show FBoy Island Abbie Chatfield has said it’s not a “serious show.”

However, there are some serious conversations being had about the show berating Australian men for their ‘f**k boy’ behaviour.

This includes one of the show’s leading ladies, Ziara Rae, talking about the struggles she faces as a black woman, and how many men fetishize her.

Rae said Refinery29 Australia that she often gets comments about her race from men, particularly one that sticks with her where a guy said, “You’re like Rihanna, I’ve never been with a black girl.”

The 21-year-old said comments like this are “pretty worthless” and that she would never discriminate against anyone because of their race or background.

She added, “You’ll see on this show that I really don’t have a type. I’m here to give everyone a chance… I don’t care what you look like or what background you come from. I really don’t discriminate.’

The Sydneysider said she has always faced racism in Australia and was bullied at school because of her skin color.

When Rae started modeling, the 21-year-old said she faced a lot of micro-aggressions from casting agencies, especially over her naturally afro-textured hair.

“I think in the US and UK they have hair and makeup artists who are better equipped to work with people of color,” she said.

‘Australia needs to get used to the program and offer workshops on 4C hair to emerging artists.’

FBoy Island follows Rae along with two other women, Sophie Blackley and Molly O’Halloran, on their quest for love.

In more than 10 episodes, they will be introduced to 24 suitors.

However, the twist is that half of the men are self-confessed “f**k boys,” while the others are actually on the show to find love, and the women must try to pick the good one out of the bunch.

Speak against The Daily TelegraphZiara said she didn’t expect the show to be so “packed.”

“We keep coming to the conclusion that half the guys are here for the money and the other half for a real band, but I think I could definitely reform an Fboy,” she said.
