This is the bizarre moment when a cowboy joined the police force to chase and brawl a runaway cow that was hurtling down a busy highway.
Ricky Littlejohn and his trusty horse Bucky took to Interstate-75 outside of Detroit, Michigan in a true John Wayne moment to rescue the stray bovine.
The incredible moment was captured on dashcam from a car behind it as four-wheeled cops — assisted by local cowboys — chased down the rogue animal.
While riding Bucky, Littlejohn — who galloped to the scene after hearing about the unfolding social media chaos — swung his lasso above his head to try and tie up the attacking animal.
The cow was saved when police joked that “the bovine has not been charged and is back in the pasture with a story to tell all the other cattle.”

“The fighters stood on the shoulder of I-75 with horses and four-wheelers as they attempted to capture the suspected bovine, but were unsuccessful in their efforts,” the state police said.
“The cow managed to outsmart his advice and entered the northbound lanes of I-75.

After the bizarre event, Littlejohn recounted Fox news how proud he was of Bucky.
‘I was really impressed. This was a pretty big job for him to do, but I took him out and practiced with him a bit and he really came in handy.”
The cowboy added, “When we started running up there we got shoes on all our horses and stuff and it’s like a skating rink when you run up there so we had to be really careful not to wipe ourselves out and keep everybody safe while we get the job done.’
