  • Ryan Mason believes Spurs can still bring the best managers in the world to the club
  • Arne Slot is the latest name to exclude from the Spurs vacancy
  • Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou focused only on winning the treble with his team

Ryan Mason insists the job at Tottenham still appeals to the world’s best managers after the latest setback in their search for a manager.

Spurs have been without a permanent manager for two months since the sacking of Antonio Conte after Feyenoord manager Arne Slot turned down interest from the north Londoners in signing a new contract with the newly crowned champions until 2026.

After qualifying for the Champions League last season, Spurs lost this term and need results to qualify for Europe on the final day of the season.

But current interim boss Mason is adamant that Spurs keep their appeal.

He said, ‘Absolutely. Yes. Are [Spurs’] history. It’s Tottenham Hotspur, a big club, not just for managers, coaches, staff and players.

Everyone here should feel the privilege and honor of representing the badge and if they don’t then they shouldn’t be here. It’s that simple.’

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglu is another name under the Spurs job following Slot’s withdrawal and when asked about the situation, which has also been linked to Chelsea, said: ‘And yet I’m still here still. It doesn’t [come onto my radar].

“I think anyone who knows me, I’ve been asked about these things many times, knows that the here and now is important to me. I’ve never planned anything in my football career.

My ambitions at the moment are to enjoy tomorrow, play a good game, then try to win a cup final and try to make it a special year.

You don’t get the chance to win a treble every year. If anyone thinks I think otherwise, he doesn’t know me.’
