Texas A&M baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle has almost always maintained that he’s never been a fan of in-game interviews, and he said it again on Thursday right before an Aggies outfielder missed a flyout.
In the bottom of the fourth, SEC Network broadcasters Dave Neal and Ben McDonald spoke to Schlossnagle as Arkansas infielder Peyton Holt hit what was destined to be an easy fly on a flyout to right.
And while the ball was still in the air, Schlossnagle seemed to tense up.
“I’m unlucky in these interviews,” he said. Moments later, right fielder Jordan Thompson failed to catch the ball before it fell into foul territory.
“I told you so,” Schlossnagle said.

Schlossnagle appeared annoyed in the dugout and took off the headset and cut off the interview
Amused by what had happened, both sports reporters bade Schlossnagle farewell.
The second-year Aggies coach waved his arms in frustration and removed his headphones, ending the interview on the spot, before returning to his team’s bullpen.
The missed catch did not affect Texas A&M’s chances of beating Arkansas at the SEC Tournament, as Holt only got a few pitches after his foul ball.
The Razorbacks managed to come back to beat the Aggies 6-5.
Schlossnagle, 55, is in his second season as head coach of the Texas A&M baseball team
Kendall Diggs delivered a walk-off home run in the 11th inning.
Texas A&M won 5-0 against South Carolina on Thursday and will face LSU or Arkansas on Friday.
Shortly after his last in-game interview, Schlossnagle told the SEC Network that he blames ESPN commentator Tom Hart for the “bad luck” moment. .
“I like to blame anything ESPN-related on Tom Hart,” the Aggies head coach said.
