Loved ones are mourning a young woman who dreamed of traveling the world after she died suddenly while playing cards with her parents at a family dinner.
Daniella Jade Duchatel, 26, from Brisbane, suffered a cardiac arrest at her parents’ home on Sunday evening.
Her frantic mother, Kay, tried to resuscitate her daughter after she collapsed, but unfortunately was unable to revive the young government employee.
The 26-year-old died of shock just a month after breaking her leg and some ligaments when she injured herself while walking home with friends.

She received a plate in her leg during emergency surgery and was recovering at her parents’ home when she suffered cardiac arrest.
Doctors have theorized that a blood clot formed after surgery and traveled to the 26-year-old’s lung, causing a pulmonary embolism.
The family is waiting for the results of an autopsy to confirm.
Ms Duchatel announced the tragic death of her daughter on Facebook on Tuesday.
“It is with the deepest sadness that I inform you that our daughter Daniella Jade Duchatel passed away peacefully last night,” she wrote.
“We will keep you all updated on the details of the funeral in the coming days. Please give us some time to process our loss.’

Friend Janis Michel posted a heartfelt tribute to Ms Duchatel on Instagram, saying she struggled to “understand the pain and sadness”.
She told her friend, who had dreamed of traveling the world, that she was going to “galavant” in her memory.
“Your love and kindness was so pure and being around you made me want to be a better person,” she wrote.
“The time I’ve spent with you has been some of my happiest moments of my life, from falling asleep on the sofas watching friends to battling frogs in the rainforest. I cherish it all and will forever remember our great memories and time together.
“I love you my sweet angel. Rest in peace, and I’ll see you again. For now, as you told me, I’m going to travel the world for both of us. I miss you so much my sister.’
Just months before her shocking death, Ms. Duchatel announced that she had finally saved enough money to buy her own unit in Brisbane.

“After months of stress, excitement and confusion, I finally own a home!” she wrote on Facebook on Jan. 24.
“My own apartment has been completed and I am so excited and nervous to start this new chapter!”
Family friend Chantelle Lay, who has known Mrs. Duchatel for 10 years, is a GoFundMe page to raise money for the family.
“Her family would appreciate your financial support at this time,” she wrote.
“This allows them to be home, take time out to mourn the loss of their daughter, and help pay for Dani’s funeral expenses.”
The campaign raised more than $15,000 of the $20,000 goal.
