ESPN announcer suffers VERY unfortunate slip of the tongue live on air
oops! ESPN announcer suffers VERY unfortunate slip of the tongue live on air as he tries to say ‘you can’t turn back the clock’ – and his colleague’s reaction doesn’t help
ESPN announcer Tom Hart suffered a slip of the tongue Wednesday night when he called into a college baseball game between Vanderbilt and Auburn.
As Vanderbilt won 6-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Hart tried to say “you can’t turn back the clock,” but eventually tripped over himself, saying a completely different line instead.
“You can’t blacken the black bastard,” he said sadly.
The blunder was clearly an accident, with Hart joking that it was after midnight.
Vanderbilt would go on to win the game 6-4.

Glen Kuiper was fired for a slip of the tongue earlier this month
Hart’s mistake comes after Oakland A’s broadcaster Glen Kuiper was fired for his use of racial slurs during a broadcast.
Earlier this month, during a game against the Royals, Kuiper talked about a trip to the Negro League Museum on NBC Sports California with fellow Dallas Braden, but he apparently mispronounced the word “nigger,” making it instead sound like the n- word.
Kuiper apologized both on the broadcast later in the game and during his subsequent suspension, saying he was “appalled” by the apparent mistake.
But the network made the decision to fire him on Monday.
