Tina Turner fans left baffled to learn the singer followed Cheryl on Instagram

Tina Turner fans left stunned to learn that the legendary singer followed a VERY surprising star on Instagram – and you’ll never guess who it is!

Tina Turner fans are baffled after discovering the eclectic array of accounts she followed on Instagram.

The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll passed away on Wednesday “after a long illness at her home” in Switzerland, her publicist confirmed.

After her death, fans flocked to the singer’s social media platforms and were shocked to learn that Tina only followed six accounts on Instagram, including a surprise British star.

One of the accounts chosen was none other than former Popstars: The Rivals star, Cheryl, despite the fact that the pair had never met.

While it appears the legendary performer never met the British singer, she may have heard rumors back in 2010 that Cheryl – then Cheryl Cole – had decided to keep her ex-husband Ashley’s surname after being inspired by Tina, who kept ex Ike Turner’s surname.

Unsurprisingly: Tina Turner fans are stunned after discovering the eclectic array of accounts she followed on Instagram

Taking to Twitter after making the discovery, shocked fans wrote, “Just found out that Tina Turner follows six people on Instagram and one of them…is Cheryl?!?”

Much will be written about Tina Turner’s legacy – and rightly so. An icon and a legend. But now we may never know if she wanted Cheryl Cole as one of her only 6 followers on Insta or if she just scrolled too far past Cher…”

‘Not funny but Tina Turner followed 6 people and one of them was Cheryl Cole???’; “As a reminder Tina Turner only followed six people on Instagram – one of them was Cheryl from Girls Aloud?!”

“Uhhh… why is one of the six people Tina Turner follows Cheryl Tweedy?! LOL’; Wait why is Cheryl one of only six people who followed Tina Turner on Instagram [sic]’.

The other accounts followed by Tina weren’t too surprising.

One of the remaining six was Beyonce, who was a vocal fan of Tina’s and had performed tribute concerts in her honor.

Tina also followed Tony Award nominee Adrienne Warren, the first star Tina played in the Broadway and West End musical productions based on her life.

TINA The Musical London was also another account followed by the Grammy-winning singer.

The last two accounts followed by Tina were Rhino Records and Parlophone Records.

Unexpected: One of the accounts chosen was none other than former Popstars: The Rivals star, Cheryl, despite the fact that the pair had never met

The death of the Tennessee-born singer was confirmed on Wednesday, with her publicist saying she died at home near Zurich in Switzerland at the age of 83.

Tina died “after a long illness in her home,” her publicist Bernard Doherty said.

She was last seen in public in November 2019, attending the Broadway premiere of the musical of her life, where she needed help getting up.

Rock ‘n’ Roll star Tina shared a grim Instagram post about her kidney failure two months before her untimely death.

She opened up about her health concerns on International World Kidney Day on March 9, revealing that she had put herself in “great danger” by not taking her 1978 hypertension diagnosis seriously.

“My kidneys are a victim of not realizing my high blood pressure should have been treated with conventional medications,” she wrote.

“I’ve put myself in grave danger by refusing to face the reality that I need daily, lifelong drug therapy.”

The March post gave a glimpse of her final days when she added, “For far too long I have believed that my body was an untouchable and indestructible bastion.”
