Tyson Fury’s coach Andy Lee says Oleksandr Usyk fight is his destiny, Francis Ngannou bout possible

Tyson Fury’s coach Andy Lee says an Oleksandr Usyk fight is the Gypsy King’s ‘destiny’ – and there’s no reason he shouldn’t take on a ‘freak show’ fight with Francis Ngannou

Tyson Fury’s highly anticipated heavyweight unification bout with Oleksander Usyk is his destiny, according to the Gypsy King’s cousin and trainer.

The Ukrainian fighter appeared set for a clash with the British heavyweight at Wembley Stadium earlier this year, but talks stalled at a later stage.

According to reports, Fury’s persistent demands made a deal impossible despite the WBA, IBF and WBO belt holder accepting a ’70-30′ split in prize money.

While Fury has been discussing a potential fight against Aussie Demsey McKean this summer, Andy Lee says he’d like to see the much-touted showdown with Usyk happen next — or a “freak show” bout with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.

“There are only a few people who can really fight Tyson,” Lee said foxsportaustralia.

“He’s accomplished so much, it’s really a matter of who is there to challenge him?

And while the fight (with Ngannou) would be a special kind of attraction, like a freak show, when it comes to making the most money with the least risk, that’s smart.

And at Tyson’s age, the years he’s put into the game, why not?

“I think it’s a good fight for him.

But how long does it take?

“Tyson could make it last as long as he wanted,” Lee grinned. “He could mess around a bit, make Francis look good.

Like Floyd Mayweather sometimes does.

“Then he can turn it off when needed.”

Lee also trains Kiwi superstar Joseph Parker, who blitzed former Aussie champion Faiga Opelu in the first round of their fight on Wednesday.

The coach would like to see the former world champion fight a few more times this year and fight his way to the title fight.

“Joe’s right there,” Lee said. “He is still a star attraction and brings a lot to the table.

“He’s a former world champion and could fight anyone outside the top two – Tyson and Usyk, who seem destined to go head to head.”
