Tasered grandmother::Senior constable set to face three charges

Senior officer who Tasered 95-year-old grandmother will face three charges when police complete the investigation

The senior officer who tasered 95-year-old great-grandmother Clare Nowland is expected to be charged by homicide detectives Wednesday night.

Ms Nowland, a dementia sufferer who weighs just 43kg, was clutching a steak knife as she ‘slowly’ approached a police officer at Yallambie Lodge in southern NSW just after 4am last Wednesday.

Senior Constable Kristian White, 33, then fired a taser at Ms Nowland, causing her to fall to the floor, hit her head and suffer a brain hemorrhage. She receives care at the end of her life in the hospital.

Now, Host of 2 GB Ray Hadley has revealed that White will be charged with the incident tonight, after the investigation is complete.

He is about to face three charges, common assault being the least.

Clare Nowland is now receiving end-of-life care at Cooma District Hospital, in southern NSW, after being tasered by an officer early Wednesday morning
