Phillip Schofield ‘eyed-up by Strictly Come Dancing bosses’

Phillip Schofield ‘watched by Strictly Come Dancing bosses after presenter’s This Morning departure amid rumors of Holly Willoughby feud’

Strictly Come Dancing bosses have reportedly set their sights on Phillip Schofield following his departure from This Morning.

The TV presenter, 61, left the ITV daytime show last week after 21 years amid rumors of a falling out with his co-host Holly Willoughby.

While the pair reportedly have called a truce, Holly remains on This Morning while Phillip moves on to other primetime projects.

And it has now been rumored that BBC bigwigs are looking to sign Phillip for a role in the ballroom and Latin dance competition Strictly.

A source told The sun: “Phil is in Strictly’s crosshairs. They would love to have him on board because of the publicity it would generate for the show. Phil has been asked before, but this time the offer was more aggressive.

“Since he was suspended from This Morning, people have been discussing what to do with him.

“Phil has been approached by broadcasters such as Channel 5 who are keen to discuss possible projects.

“As he’s currently lying low and trying to work out his next move, it’s unlikely he’ll be putting on his dancing shoes, but stranger things have happened.

“Nobody thought he’d ever leave This Morning and look how that turned out.”

MailOnline has contacted the BBC and a Phillip representative for comment.

It comes after both Phil and Holly were nominated in the same category in the National Television Awards longlist in an awkwardly timed nod.

Phillip and his former co-host, 42, have both been recognized in the Best TV Presenter category just days after Phillip quit This Morning.

The pair are about to face each other uneasily as they are both among the 50 names for the best TV presenter gong in an unfortunately timed nomination.

They were disqualified in the category last year, but are both up for the esteemed prize at the upcoming 28th National Television Awards (NTAs).

They’re also nominated alongside their This Morning co-stars Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary – who act as hosts of this week’s ITV show.

ITV’s Lorraine Kelly and Rochelle Humes have also gotten their nods alongside presenting duo Ant and Dec, who took home the award for the 21st year in 2022.

This Morning is also nominated in the Daytime category, having won the award last year, with Phillip and Holly taking the stage to receive the gong.
