Woman stunned after fiancé suggested going to Woolworths the morning of their wedding to buy flowers

My fiancée wants me to cut costs for our wedding day, starting with the flowers – his idea could save us thousands, but I’m not on board

  • Kasey Rayton was planning wedding planning with her fiancé
  • Soon he made an incredulous proposal

A woman has made thousands laugh after revealing the ‘hilarious’ suggestion her fiancé made while planning the wedding.

Kasey Rayton got engaged to her boyfriend of 12 years in early 2023, and while she didn’t expect wedding planning to be easy, she was a bit shocked by the prices of flowers.

She said they can cost up to $10,000 in certain states, with most places packages starting at $1,000 for the bride’s bouquet, a few bridesmaid’s bouquets, and lapel pin flowers for groomsmen.

Kasey did a lot of research and tried to find the perfect match within their budget when her fiancé agreed to a suggestion.

‘Can’t we just get them from Woolies in the morning?’ he asked.

Kasey didn’t even know how to respond and laughed at the suggestion.

“I can’t even make this up,” she said of the situation in a video.

Many agreed with the man’s cost-cutting idea — and some even admitted to using it themselves.

“That’s a smart financial mood,” one woman said. “You should use your Rewards card to save more money.”

“I bought seven native bunches from a fruit and vegetable store, and my bridesmaids and I put together our bouquets as we got ready — it only cost $200,” one former bride revealed.

Others shared how they could save thousands of dollars by going to flower markets instead of hiring a professional florist.

But some were not convinced.

“To anyone who says listen to her fiancé – I don’t think you realize how hard it is to get a cheap bunch of flowers that look good in wedding photos,” said one woman.

Another added: ‘When you buy flowers at the supermarket, you can tell by the wedding photos. You’ll keep them forever, you might as well spring for the bouquets.’

“I don’t think you should listen to men, my husband wanted us to serve roast chooks from Woolworths at our wedding,” wrote another.
