Amanda Holden leaves work following THAT thinly-veiled SWIPE at Phillip Schofield

Amanda Holden couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as she left work at Heart FM on Monday morning – days after seemingly doing a dig at Phillip Schofield.

The radio presenter’s thinly veiled lash came just moments after the This Morning host, 61, confirmed he would be stepping down from his role on the morning magazine show.

She posted a strongman emoji in what appeared to be a sign of celebration and did not endorse the post as she remained mysterious about its meaning.

And days later, Amanda seemed to have no regrets as she stepped out of Global Studios with a grin before heading home.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 52, exuded summer chic in a knitted blue and cream dress, which she paired with a cool denim jacket.

Amanda amped up her petite body in a pair of baby blue stilettos and carried her essentials in a small white handbag.

The mother-of-two wore a gorgeous Van Cleef & Arpels necklace, which cost £1,430, as well as a selection of the brand’s bracelets on her wrist.

Over the weekend, Amanda appeared to take a thinly veiled swipe at her former colleague Phillip after he confirmed he was quitting This Morning.

She took to Instagram on Saturday to share a cryptic post just minutes after the shocking news was revealed amid Phillips’ feud with co-host Holly.

Amanda previously worked with Phillip on This Morning and hasn’t shied away from expressing her feelings about him over the years amid their ongoing feud.

After Amanda’s seemingly devious dig, fans couldn’t help but take to the comment section to speculate that it was directed at Phillip.

One wrote, “No words needed,” while another said, “I know what that’s for.”

A third commented, “You’d make a good replacement,” suggesting she reprise his role in the ITV breakfast show.

However, another fan deemed her post “unnecessary,” as they wrote, “This is not the way to do it. Not necessary at all.’

Back in September, Amanda made a sly dig at Phillip amid the ‘Queue-gate’ saga, while making her feelings very clear about the host.

Her comments came after it was claimed he and co-presenter Holly jumped in line last week at London’s Westminster Hall to film a segment for This Morning as the late Queen lays in state.

On her Heart Breakfast Show, Amanda appeared to allude to the controversy during a light-hearted conversation with Ashley Roberts.

Ashley, 41, was heard to say: ‘So David Beckham has struck a seven-figure deal with Qatar’s World Cup sponsor, Doritos. I like Doritos. I’d like a seven-figure deal.

To which Amanda slyly replied, “Get in line. Well, I mean, he did get in line. Good on him.’

Ashley then referred to the football legend’s recent visit to see the Queen’s visit, where he waited in line next to the public after turning down a VIP invite.

The Pussycat Doll said, “Well, yes, he did for about 14 hours.”

And in June 2019, when asked on her Heart Breakfast show what she wouldn’t want to find in her home, Amanda said, “Spiders, flies, and Phillip Schofield.”

Amanda first worked with Phillip after stepping into Holly’s shoes when the This Morning star took a year off from the show in 2014 to have her third baby.

Amanda previously said she believes Phillip sabotaged her chances of filling in on This Morning in 2018 while Holly was hosting I’m A Celeb.

A former TV executive previously told The Sun: “Phillip actively campaigned for Rochelle, 30, to get the job, despite Amanda having more experience – and being told privately that she got the gig.”

An ITV spokesperson later stressed that Rochelle’s casting was a decision made by producers, telling MailOnline: “The line-ups of presenters on This Morning change regularly and the final decisions on these line-ups are made by producers and not the presenters.”

‘Phillip Schofield is a much loved broadcaster and part of the ITV family. He is a consummate professional and highly regarded by ITV. Amanda is also highly regarded as a judge on one of our biggest shows.”

But there have long been rumors of trouble between the TV presenters, with Amanda reportedly lobbying ITV executives after Schofield reportedly pushed for Rochelle Humes to take the job.

Another former colleague who hasn’t held back is Eamonn Holmes who tore Phillip for claiming he would leave of his own accord after 20 years.

Eamonn said, “He was fired,” as the crisis-hit show kicked off today with a brief tribute to the star.

The GB News breakfast show host also suggested Holly was being duplicitous when she claimed to be sad that Mr Schofield was leaving the hit ITV show after two decades at the helm, adding: ‘They deserve each other’.

During the newspaper review, when Isabel Webster said that Phil was “resigning,” Eamonn raged“Oh, please stop this. He was fired. All that “I’ve decided to resign” nonsense. I’m sure you did – here’s your P45 resign now’.

He then imitated Holly and said, “And she says, ‘Oh, the sofa won’t be the same if it’s not there.’ Well, she wished he wasn’t there. So what is she whining about. I think they deserve each other.”

He continued, “Holly cheats as much as he does and no one is talking about the elephant in the room.

She says, ‘I thank him for all his knowledge, experience and humour.’ All the things she didn’t have when she came on the show. Well, it’s true! I would call that a stab in the back.

“I could give you a list of the lack of friendliness and the lack of awareness of both. How they would socialize, and the people around them. All you have to do is look at my phone, full of people happy to see the backs of those two.”

Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary filled in as interim hosts of This Morning after Phillip’s departure left the show in turmoil.

Opening the broadcast, Hammond said, “We can’t begin today’s show without paying tribute to the man who has sat on the This Morning bench for the past two decades.” Phillip Schofield.’

O’Leary added: ‘So as a show everyone on and off screen at ITV and This Morning on says a huge thank you to Phil for what he’s done to make the show such a success over the last 21 years.’

Hammond continued, “Simply put, we all know he’s one of the best live television broadcasters this country has ever had, and we and the whole team wish him all the best for the future.”

Holly is taking an early holiday and will return on June 5 in two weeks, according to ITV.
