Southampton are expected to appoint Russell Martin as their new manager early this week.
The 37-year-old Swansea City manager has a year left on his contract and Southampton are said to be ready to take their formal steps and finalize the compensation before Monday.
Martin has been identified as their prime candidate to replace Ruben Selles who was put in charge after the fateful spell under Nathan Jones.
Martin was due to fly to Washington on Thursday to discuss plans and budgets with Swansea’s owners, but remained in the UK as Southampton stepped up their interest.
