LA entered the showdown by two games to none in the best of seven series, where the winner advances to the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat or Boston Celtics.
Seeking a lift from their hometown fans, the Lakers would get off to a slow start, which translated into a 12-point lead in Denver after a quarter.

Nikola Jokic’s 24 points, six rebounds and eight assists would also be one of the difference makers.
With the win, the Nuggets now lead three games to zero and can close the series with a victory in game four, which is also in Los Angeles on Monday.
