Oasis reunion: Liam & Noel Gallagher ‘Knebworth gigs planning starts’

Speculation surrounding an Oasis reunion is mounting, with Liam and Noel Gallagher reportedly flirting with the idea.

It is alleged that an idea has been floated by Liam’s agents Wasserman for four major concerts to take place in 2025 at the 125,000 capacity Knebworth venue in Hertfordshire.

The performances would mark the band’s first time playing together since V Festival in the summer of 2009.

Brothers Liam, 50, and Noel, 55, performed to 250,000 at Knebworth in 1996, and Liam returned to the venue to take the stage to 170,000 in 2022.

A source told The sun: ‘The plan is still in its infancy and the proposed dates are still a long way off. But if all members agree to do it, history will be made.

“Tickets would sell like hot cakes and fans would be thrilled to see the band together again.

“It would be the perfect way for Oasis to get back together and wouldn’t involve a tiring tour schedule.”

Both Liam and Noel are currently working on their solo albums and will tour each following year.

MailOnline has reached out to representatives for Liam and Noel for comment.

It comes after Blur’s Damon Albarn said he was willing to “put money” into reuniting Britpop rival Oasis.

The Parklife hitmakers have reunited themselves and released their comeback single The Narcissist this week.

They also have a slew of intimate warm-up performances ahead of two major comeback shows at Wembley Stadium in July.

And frontman Damon, 55, has insisted he’s confident that feuding siblings Liam and Noel Gallagher will put their estrangement behind them to reform and have a much bigger reunion than them.

said Damon The sun: ‘I can guarantee that they will reform. In fact, I put money on it.

“They’re brothers and it would be great if they reconciled.”

He joked: ‘The only funny thing is our two nights at Wembley will be dwarfed by their SEVEN!’

Oasis broke up in the summer of 2009 after a backstage clash between frontman Liam and guitarist Noel.

Liam has been calling for an Oasis reunion for years, but without giving in to his nemesis brother.

Noel recently raised fans’ hopes when he urged his younger sibling to “let his people call my people.”

During a radio interview in France on France Inter, Noel said: ‘There’s something in the papers in England today.

‘[Liam] should get his people to call my people; they know who they are, they know where we are. Stop talking on the internet, and let’s see what you have to say.’

The reporter then asked if that was all it would take to reunite Oasis, to which he replied, “You’d think, wouldn’t you?” You would think. He has my number, he has my manager’s number, call us. But you know what? He’s not calling.’

Noel had admitted earlier this year that he would “never say never” to a reunion.

He told BBC Radio Manchester: ‘You should never say never, [but] it would require an extraordinary set of circumstances.

“That’s not to say that those circumstances would never arise.”

The Champagne Supernova hitmaker was then asked how he and Liam are doing these days, to which he replied, seemingly sarcastically, “Oh, brilliant, yes. Really, yes.’

The band will not reunite this summer to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album Absolutely Maybe.

However, Noel has put together previously lost tracks from the recording sessions for the landmark 1994 LP.

He told Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera: “In the Sony archives we found tapes dating back to those sessions.

“We thought they were lost, but they were mislabeled. They’re beautiful versions of those songs, some of them acoustic versions.

“There won’t be a tour – we’re not coming back to play them together.”
