Helena Christensen and ex Norman Reedus reunite to celebrate their son Mingus’ graduation from NYU

Helena Christensen and her ex, Norman Reedus, have reunited to celebrate their son Mingus’s graduation from New York University in the star’s latest Instagram post uploaded Saturday.

The Danish model, 54, who recently had another reunion with fellow 1990s supermodels Cindy Crawford and Christy Turlington, uploaded a picture posing with her 23-year-old son and The Walking Dead actor, also 54.

The former couple notably dated from 1998 until their split in 2003, welcoming Mingus in October 1999.

The stunning beauty was seen in a black and blue striped short sleeve jumper for an adorable family photo. Her dark brown locks were parted to the side and curled her shoulders in light curls.

Norman wore a long-sleeved black shirt, while Mingus was seen wearing a white button partially undone around the collar.

The trio smiled cheerfully for the camera as the supermodel wrote to her son in the caption, “You did it!”

She also uploaded a short clip to her 1 million fans and followers that showed Mingus wearing his purple graduation gown raising an excited hand in the air next to his father as they sauntered over to her.

Social media users jumped to the comment section to congratulate the 23-year-old on his milestone, as did Norman’s fiancee, Diane Kruger, and Hannibal actress Julianne Moore.

Helena’s good friend, Cindy Crawford, typed, “Bravo!” while Chrissy Turlington added a slew of purple heart emojis in reference to New York University’s school color.

The beauty also posted a separate selfie to her Instagram stories as she sat next to Norman at their son’s ceremony to cheer on Mingus.

Christensen wrote a caption added to the bottom of the snap, “Amazing Ceremony for @nyutisch 2023 Graduates,” referring to New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Mingus has begun to follow in his mother’s footsteps and has walked the catwalk for brands as well as in campaigns. He was recently proud of the Versace Spring/Summer 2023 Menswear show in Milan.

Late last year, in October, he also joined his mother for the Marcell Von Berlin and posed with Helena in 2021 for the Victoria’s Secret Mother’s Day campaign.

Since their split in 2002, both Helena and Norman have maintained a friendship and healthy co-parenting relationship. The two also got back together to celebrate their son’s high school graduation in 2018.

Last March, Mingus was sentenced to private counseling after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct following allegations that he punched an unidentified woman in the face at Manhattan’s San Gennaro Festival.

Shortly before the weekend’s thrilling festivities, the Danish-born star got a chance to have a reunion with fellow 1990s supermodels Cindy Crawford and also Christy Turlington.

The beauty uploaded an Instagram photo series capturing the sweet moment, writing, “Lifelong friendships. So beyond thankful for these women, love them and our children so much,” followed by a white heart emoji.

Along with a slew of photos of the stunning models, Helena also uploaded a photo of their children: Mingus, Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, and Christy’s daughter, Grace Burns.

Turlington sweetly typed in the comment section of the post, “That was such a nice end to a long day! Thank you @helenachristensen for always capturing these occasions that don’t happen often enough!’

Brooke Shields also sent her thoughts, adding, “Love this so much!! I was never a member of this group, but I loved you all from afar to begin with…and now up close. I am grateful for it.’

Helena, who rose to prominence in the 1990s and graced the covers of numerous magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, also embraces her passion for photography.

Some of her work has appeared in publications such as Elle and Marie Claire, as the model recently shared Hello! magazine in an article published last month in April, ‘Photography is how I breathe, I couldn’t live without it.’

‘I think it’s incredibly important to see and discover everything, to be curious about things. And modeling is such a big part of my life, too,” she told the outlet.

“I hope I can keep all that because it inspires me creatively and I’m so grateful to have that gift in my life — not everyone can be so passionate about something.”
