Married At First Sight cast stand by Alyssa Barmonde following her villain edit

Married At First Sight star Alyssa Barmonde was named one of the show’s “Most Hated Brides” this year, but she’s now been showered with support from her castmates.

In a series of Instagram posts, which Alyssa reposted on her own page, her co-stars poured out an outpouring of love for the controversial contestant, claiming she was poorly edited.

Fellow bride Lyndall Grace said in an Instagram Q&A that everyone loved Alyssa, adding, “I probably couldn’t name one person who didn’t.”

Cam Woods, Lyndall’s on-screen husband, shared a video of Alyssa dancing on a night out, writing, “She may have a kid, but she’s amazing!”

Rupert Budgen chimed in, saying in an Instagram post that Alyssa was “hugely blindsided” by how she was portrayed on the show.

“She’s a sweetheart, I don’t know how they did that to her. I often went to the gym with Duncan and he said nothing about it. He always talked nice about her,’ he said.

Tahnee Cook wrote during a Q&A on Instagram, “She’s that friend who will always be there for you no matter what,” adding that Alyssa was “one of the most beautiful people” she’s ever met.

Melinda Willis chimed in, “I’m also getting on this bandwagon because I feel like every single [cast member] has exactly the same to say about Alyssa’.

She encouraged people to use the Free Alyssa hashtag.

“Let’s get this movement started because you guys are giving her such a horrible time and I promise if you were there and did the show with Alyssa she would definitely be one of your best friends,” Melinda said.

Bronte Schofield also shared a supportive post, writing, “The cast and I sat back and watched the audience tear you down because of a montage you had no control over.

“It breaks my heart that people have jumped on the bandwagon to condemn a woman who risked her heart to find love in the most catastrophic and controversial way, despite everything you go through in your daily life, let it never stop you from being the big-hearted, beautiful woman you are.’

Alyssa replied in her own post, clearly moved by all the support, writing, “Real tears this morning. Lucky this time.

Thanks to all my cast peeps speaking out. It means so much that you have no idea. I feel so validated.’

It comes after Alyssa fled Australia after she ‘coincidentally’ lost her job amid the fallout from her villainous edit.

The 35-year-old single mom took to her Instagram on Monday to share a photo from her vacation in Hawaii with two friends.

“Aloha,” she wrote alongside the hashtags #fledtohawaii #everyotherweekend.

A source close to Barmonde told Daily Mail Australia that the baker planned to travel abroad because she has been ‘unhappy since the show aired’ and just had to relax.

She really just wants to move on and forget she was ever on the show. It’s been completely unfair. What we saw on television was not her,” the source said.

Alyssa was fired from her job as an executive assistant for a Sydney company – a position she held for seven years.

Speak against The Daily Telegraph last month, Alyssa pointed to the “coincidence” that she was fired two weeks after the broadcast of the MAFS final.

During the second half of the season, she was portrayed negatively, with edited scenes focusing on her emotional outbursts, abuse from husband Duncan James, and constantly using “I have a child” as an excuse for her bad behavior.

However, the ex-Mormon insists this depiction was one-sided and unfair, arguing that many of her clashes with Duncan, from whom she split at final vows, lacked proper on-screen context.

She confessed that she had been going through a “really dark… couple of months” while the show was airing and that she had to stop watching after the couples’ retreat because “I could see what the montage was.”

Alyssa revealed she was harassed by viewers who tracked down her mobile number and business accounts and received “the meanest messages.”

She asked Channel Nine’s publicity department to give her access to her Instagram account so she could contest the story of the show’s editing, but they denied the request until the season has aired in the UK.

“They’re protecting the show and the story they’ve created, rather than letting me have my own voice,” she claimed.

Alyssa said she feels hurt and betrayed by producers after watching the series and seeing all the problems in her relationship with Duncan due to her status as a single parent.

She is assisted by her therapist, whom she has been seeing for 20 years, for sessions three times a week, and has “upped” the dosage of her anxiety medication.
