Eric Swalwell, the representative of California’s 14th congressional district, apparently received death threats from former 49ers fullback Bruce Miller, according to a screenshot he shared on Twitter.

On Thursday afternoon, Swalwell received a threatening message from an account that appeared to belong to Miller, who played six seasons in the NFL.

‘Almost time! Rather Guantanamo or just execution,” the account wrote. “f***in traitor.”

The account has more than 54,000 Twitter followers, including the NFL.

But Swalwell was seemingly unfamiliar with the former 49er.

‘Who is this man threatening to execute me? And how come he has so many followers?’ Swalwell captioned the screenshot of the message.

Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) reportedly notified the Capitol Police of the incident afterwards

According to NBC Bay areaSwalwell notified the Capitol Police of the threat, saying, “My family and staff are deeply troubled by the threat of execution … apparently by former 49er Bruce Miller.”

“Threats of political violence are unacceptable.”

If Miller were arrested for his comments, it wouldn’t be his first run-in with law enforcement.

He destroyed a woman’s cell phone in 2015 pleading no disturbing crime of peace, and was arrested the following year for assault and elder abuse.

A seventh-round draft pick in 2011, Miller played with the 49ers from 2011-15, returning for a stint with the Jaguars in 2020.
