Halle Bailey stuns in white crop top and matching skirt as she promotes The Little Mermaid at GMA

Halle Bailey was a vision in white when she stepped out to go in New York City on Thursday Good morning America.

The 23-year-old singer and actress – who has been busy promoting The Little Mermaid – wore an off-the-shoulder crop top and matching maxi skirt.

The Atlanta-raised beauty tastefully flaunted her cleavage and a bit of her toned midriff in the classy look.

The singer, who is one half of the duo Chloe x Halle, was all smiles as she headed to the ABC studios.

The star, who plays Ariel in the live-action version of the 1980s animated film, completed her look with white heels.

Halle kicked off the day in simple open-toe shoes with ankle straps that exposed a metallic blue pedicure.

She later traded them in for a pair of thick, open-toed white leather mules.

The fashionista’s two-piece ensemble was designed with a floral-patterned material, and the skirt featured small cutouts throughout.

Bailey beat the morning chill by draping a matching white coat over her shoulders.

The entertainer pulled her long curly hair into a voluminous updo and made a big bun on top of her head.

Curly ends flowed down and framed her face, which was carefully made up with flattering, natural-looking makeup.

Halle rocked tiny earrings and a single, understated necklace around her neck.

On the morning show, she talked about her role in the upcoming film, discussing representation and the experience she called a “dream come true.”

“It makes me so happy, you know, that we’re getting such good criticism for our movie,” she said during her segment. I’m just in a constant state of wow.’

Last week at the Los Angeles premiere of the film, due out May 26, Halle met Jodi Benson, who provided the voice of 1989’s Ariel.

“It was a dream to meet Jodi Benson because honestly she’s been the soundtrack to a lot of our childhood and our lives, and the work she did as the original Ariel was just so special,” Halle gushed.

“So to have her blessing and her stamp of approval was so beautiful and validating and I’m just honored to meet her because she’s a legend,” she continued.

And Bailey also spoke about how meaningful it is to be a black woman in the role of the originally white character, a theme she’s discussed since she was first cast in the film in 2019.

“I mean, we deserve a representation where we can look and say, ‘Wow, I’m worth it too. She looks like me. I have a doll that looks like me.’

“It’s so special and, you know, I’m just so grateful to even be a part of this,” she said proudly.

Since promotional clips hit the media, young viewers have taken to social media with joyful reactions upon seeing Halle in the teasers.

The entertainer talked about how emotional the positive feedback has made her.

“Honestly, seeing beautiful videos like this every day makes me cry. I literally sobbed every day when I saw the reaction of these beautiful little girls and boys,” she revealed.

“I’m just in a constant state of awe and so grateful that they can see themselves in a character like Ariel.”

Halle’s casting initially drew vitriolic comments from critics who thought the live-action film should tie in with the white, red-haired cartoon character Ariel.
