Priscilla Presley had asked to be buried next to ex Elvis during the Lisa Marie negotiations

Priscilla Presley had asked to be buried next to her ex-husband Elvis, despite the fact that he currently lies between the graves of both his parents.

The 77-year-old reportedly made the request while embroiled in a long-running dispute with her granddaughter, Riley Keough, 33, over the multimillion-dollar Graceland estate of the late Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis and Priscilla.

Despite being embroiled in the legal battle — which ended in a joint settlement on Tuesday — Priscilla filed a request to be buried next to Elvis at his legendary Memphis estate, according to TMZ.

Sources told the publication that Priscilla’s request was immediately rejected, as it would involve moving his parents’ tombstones, and she “backed out.”

Priscilla told the, “Although I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon. It is the wish of my family and mine that I will be laid to rest with my daughter and the love of my life when that time comes. We appreciate the love from all fans.”

Priscilla has challenged Lisa Marie’s will just two weeks after her death in January at the age of 54.

The will gives control of Lisa Marie’s wealthy Promenade Trust to her daughter Riley.

Riley, 33, who was reportedly furious when her grandmother went to court to protest the will, has not objected to Priscilla’s challenge.

On Tuesday it became clear that she and her grandmother had buried the hatchet and settled their differences.

After Riley’s attorney Justin Gold announced to LA Superior Court Judge Lynn Scaduto that there was an agreement between the two, Riley’s attorney Justin Gold added that he intended to file a motion to seal the details of the settlement to keep them from the public.

The lawyers also testified in court on Tuesday that the women settled on a second trust related to Lisa Marie’s insurance policies — estimated to total $35 million.

Judge Scaduto has scheduled a court hearing on August 4 to officially approve both settlements.

“Priscilla is happy,” her attorney Ronson Shamoun told DailyMail.com. “The families are happy and united and together and excited for the future.”

When asked if Riley was also happy with the settlement, Gold told DailyMail.com, “She wouldn’t have agreed to the settlement if she wasn’t happy with it.”

Riley always supported her mother through her lengthy, often vexing divorce and custody disputes with her fourth husband, musician Michael Lockwood, 61, father of Lisa Marie’s twin, 14-year-old daughters, Finley and Harper.

It has been reported that Priscilla and Lisa Marie “barely spoke” just before the latter’s death after Priscilla sided with Lockwood over custody of the twins.

Multiple sources told People that the mother and daughter couldn’t speak to each other despite appearing at multiple events together, including the premiere of the Elvis biopic starring Austin Butler.

“Riley was always on her mother’s side when it came to Michael (Lockwood),” a source told the magazine. “It bothered her that her grandmother and Michael flew to (Lisa Marie’s) funeral together.”

Priscilla also helped Michael with the ceremony at Elvis’ famous home, Graceland, despite her late daughter’s wishes.

“Michael wasn’t invited,” a close friend of Lisa Marie told People. “He came to Memphis under the pretense of escorting the twins — and he forced his way in with Priscilla’s help.

“The last thing Lisa Marie would have wanted was for Michael to be there.”

The rift between Riley and her grandmother began when Priscilla went to court – just days after Lisa Marie’s memorial service – to challenge her daughter’s 2016 decision to change her will, declaring Priscilla and her ex-manager Barry Siegel to remove the trustees and replace them with Riley. .

The will includes the rights to the Graceland mansion and a 15 percent interest in Elvis Presley Enterprises. Lisa Marie also had two life insurance policies, one worth $25 million and the other $10 million.

In addition to replacing Priscilla as trustee and removing her from the will, Lisa Marie’s 2016 amendment also named Riley’s brother Benjamin as the other trustee. But Benjamin committed suicide in 2020, leaving Riley as the sole heir.

Priscilla’s defiant petition to the court questioned the “authenticity and validity” of the trust, claiming Lisa Marie’s signature was “inconsistent,” and asking for reinstatement as trustee.

The grandmother of four also claimed she was unaware that Lisa Marie had changed the trust in 2016 until after her daughter’s death.

If Priscilla’s request were granted, she and Riley would become co-custodians of Lisa Marie’s estate.

Last month, Judge Scaduto granted Lockwood’s petition to be named “guardian ad litem” for Harper and Finley, allowing him to represent the girls over their mother’s hotly contested estate.

Harper and Finley are both beneficiaries of Lisa Marie’s trust, while their father Lockwood is not.

Lisa Marie died in January, hours after she went into cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas, California.

She had been rushed to a hospital in critical condition and was reported to have slipped into a coma after going into “complete cardiac arrest” shortly after complaining of abdominal pain.

Priscilla, who was by her daughter’s side, said in a statement: “It is with a heavy heart that I have to share the terrible news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.

“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to cope with this great loss. Thanks for the love and prayers. No further comment will be made at this time.’

Lisa Marie’s death comes just two days after she was pictured with her mother at the Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hills Hilton, where Austin Butler won a Best Actor award for his portrayal of her father in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis.

Lisa Marie’s life was tumultuous, with five bouts in rehab for cocaine and opioid abuse, four failed marriages – including one to Michael Jackson – as well as the loss of her son to suicide and a fierce custody battle over her twin girls with Lockwood, whom she falsely accused of having child pornography.
