Brooklyn Beckham shares why he loves cooking… after coming under fire for his ‘basic’ tutorials
Brooklyn Beckham has praised “hard-working” chefs and shared why he loves to cook after coming under fire for his own “basic” food tutorials.
The son of David and Victoria Beckham, 24, has gone out of his way to launch a cooking career and has run his own food show, Cookin’ With Brooklyn series.
He often takes to Instagram to show off his creations in tutorials, but has been repeatedly roasted by fans for his “basic” skills and use of very lavish ingredients.
Now, in a Michelin Guide video, Brooklyn shared why he loves to cook and praised chefs for being so “hardworking.”
Brooklyn — who recently stressed that he’s not a professional chef — admitted he admires the dedicated employees because they spend “every minute” mastering their craft.

He also shared why he likes to cook himself, confessing that he likes that there is “always something to learn” in the kitchen.
“One of the many things I love about chefs is that they are so artistic, they work so hard, and they always try every day, every minute of every hour to master their craft,” he said.
“I like cooking because it’s one of the few things I do that takes my mind off everything that’s going on.
‘Being in the kitchen making food is endless, you can do anything. There is always something to learn.’
The aspiring chef also revealed that his favorite cuisines are Indian and pub-style food before sharing a string of Michelin restaurants where he enjoys dining.
Speaking about his top restaurants in Los Angeles, Brooklyn shared that he enjoys dining at restaurants like Pijja Palace, Saffy’s, Hayato, and Osteria Mozza.
The former photographer also reflected on his collaboration with American chef Nancy Silverton on his social media series, Cookin’ With Brooklyn.
He said of the experience, “Nancy Silverton is my favorite chef, I was lucky enough to film with her and she taught me how to make a blueberry pie, which was amazing.”

His latest comments come after Brooklyn has been criticized in the past for his “out of control” recipes.
And last week, Brooklyn — who is married to heiress Nicola Peltz — baked another huge steak in a “sea urchin compound.”
The aspiring chef seasoned the giant piece of meat before slathering potatoes in duck fat as a side dish.
He then created a sauce for his fancy meal made from the underwater creatures, known for their distinctive spines.
Sea urchins are a great delicacy in Japanese cuisine, where they are known as ‘uni’ and often used in sushi.
Only a small part of the creature is eaten, the “gonads” or sex organs, which line the inside of the shell.
Brooklyn set his creation on a plate and gently drizzled the compound over the meat before tucking in.
He captioned the clip: ‘Bone in NY strip with sea urchin compound butter and duck fat roasted potatoes [sic]’.
In January, the novice chef was labeled “out of touch” when he used the expensive ingredient truffle to whip up a tagliatelle in his latest cooking tutorial.
He took to Instagram at the time to share his cooking tutorial video, in which he made a creamy truffle tagliatelle.
In an accompanying caption, he gushed about his love of truffle, which he used liberally to make the dish, writing, “There’s no such thing as too much truffle in my kitchen.”
However, he was labeled “out of touch” by his fans when they accused him of using luxury truffle ingredients during a cost-of-living crisis.
Commenting on his post, one person said, “I wish I could afford the idea of ’no such thing as too much truffle.'”
Another furious: “We’re in a cost-of-living crisis Brooklyn.”

A third wrote: ‘He needs to get to his audience. Most people cannot afford truffles. I have worked as a chef, very basic what he does. I love seeing him work in a restaurant kitchen and see how he would make it.”
While a fourth added: ‘These people live in a different world that most people can hardly afford at the moment and this boy is chattering about truffle.’
According to 2021 estimates, black winter truffle has an average price of $20.49 per ounce, while burgundy black truffle costs $24.93 per ounce and black summer truffle is worth $22.57 per ounce. It is not known what kind of truffle Brooklyn used.
Brooklyn also let fans down earlier this month when he filmed a cooking video with a huge hole in his sweatpants after coming under fire for his tutorials.
He took to Instagram to share a reel showing step-by-step how to make a grilled cheese sandwich.
Fans who weren’t impressed were quick to roast the star about his “boring” and “unnecessary” tutorial, while others took notice of his fashion faux pas in the video.
They took to the comment section and were quick to share their confusion over why he had filmed with a hole in his pants.
One person wrote, “There seems to be something wrong with the pants,” while another asked, “Is there a hole in your pants, or am I tripping?”
A third said, “The hole distracts me,” and a fourth added, “I like the easily accessible hole in your sweatpants.”
In the tutorial, he cooked a toasted sandwich in a frying pan to make sure it was crispy while adding mushrooms and ham.
The video received mixed reviews from fans, with one joking that it was a “culinary masterpiece” featuring several laughing emojis.
Another added, “Blowtorching pieces of toast. So unnecessary,” while a third taunted, “God, this is utterly cringe-worthy and boring.”
A fourth wrote: “Wow. You burned the bread. So superfluous.’

Others, however, praised the young cook for his ability, commenting, “I have to do this for dinner this week.” Looking awesome.’
Brooklyn has largely been cooking for Instagram videos in recent years, sharing basic tips with his followers on meals like burgers and sandwiches.
But he admitted to Bustle in a recent interview, “I’m not a professional chef at all.”
‘I never said that. I would never say that. Obviously, my father [retired footballer David Beckham] knew what he was doing from a very young age. I’ve only been cooking for three years.’
