Sarah Snook has revealed ahead of the season finale of the HBO drama why fans are attracted to her Succession character Shiv.

The Australian actress, 35, shared Marie Claire Australia she believes people find her character empowering.

“I think people find something empowering about her being so ab**ch. Well, she’s not ab**ch, but… she’s ab**ch,’ she explained.

“They find her apparent lack of empathy and the way she pursues her dreams quite powerful.”

She continued, “Shiv is complex because she’s a human being, not because she’s a woman. I like that about her.’

Sarah also hinted at some surprises during the show’s season finale.

“We knew this would be the last series [while filming]But the way the series ends, some of the cast felt it was left somewhat ambiguous,” she added.

It comes after Sarah said she felt “sad and disappointed” when she found out season four of Succession would be its last, in a new interview last month.

The actress, who is currently expecting her first child with husband Dave Lawson, admitted the cast was “not ready to be done” with the HBO drama.

It comes after fans of the show were shocked when episode three contained a huge plot twist.

Sarah said that while “everything must come to an end”, it was “bold” of the producer to finish the series “on a high”.

In conversation with OK! Magazine, she confessed that she felt a “tremendous sense of loss, disappointment and sadness” when she heard the news.

“Emotionally we weren’t all ready to be done with the show because we all love each other so much,” the star said.
