And Just Like That… season 2 will return June 22 on HBO Max

The official premiere date for And Just Lile That season 2 has been confirmed by HBO Max – the streaming site soon to be rebranded as Max.

Billed as “a new chapter” of the iconic Sex and the City, the spin-off sequel will begin streaming on June 22, reuniting all the big stars – except, of course – for Kim Cattrall who played Samantha Jones.

To accompany the news, HBO unveiled a new poster featuring original stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis.

The promo artwork – captioned “Pull up a chair, it’s gonna be a party” – features the new cast Sara Ramirez as Che Diaz, Nicole Ari Parker as Lisa Todd Wexley, Sarita Choudry as Seema Patel and Karen Pittman as Dr Nya Wallace.

Last month, fans got their first glimpse of the upcoming series, when the first trailer teased the return of John Corbett’s character Aidan Shaw – seen upon arrival at Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic brownstone building.

“And just like that, I realized that some things are better left in the past,” SJP said in her famous narration, before adding, “But maybe not everything.”

Aiden arrived at Carrie’s house where the pair appear to be reuniting, a storyline first revealed in January of this year when they were filming together on location.

“If you’re lucky, no matter what life throws at you, you can always count on your best friends to be there,” Carrie later says in her voiceover — as she’s joined by Seema for lunch.

There’s also a steamy bedroom scene between the characters Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) and her husband Herbert Wexley (Chris Jackson), hinting at an interesting new storyline for the couple.

However, possibly one of the most controversial romances for fans is the relationship between Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez).

In the new trailer, the pair can be seen enjoying a steamy kiss against a wall, suggesting their love affair will continue in the new series.

Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis) has more awkward family dramas on her hands as we watch her daughter Lily (Cathy Ang) tell her mom she’s ready to lose her virginity – causing a shock.

Production on the new series began last September when SJP posted a snapshot of the first episode’s script on her Instagram.

‘@justlikethatmax So much. For now. X, SJ,” Sarah wrote in the caption to her approximately 8.4 million followers.

And Just Like That is a revival and sequel to the HBO series Sex And The City and is set 11 years after the events of the 2010 film Sex And The City 2.

Kim Cattrall, 66, who played Samantha Jones in the original series, did not return for And Just Like That.

The show will return later this year on the soon-to-be-retitled Max.
