Cannes Film Festival: Brie Larson is glam at Jeanne du Barry premiere

Brie Larson cut a glamorous figure as she walked the red carpet at the premiere of Jeanne du Barry at the opening ceremony of France’s 76th Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old actress, who is part of the festival jury this year, wore a gold dress from the Chanel Resort 2023 collection.

Her garment shimmered in the light as she posed at the event, with the top part of the dress taking the shape of a coat and adorned with gold sequins.

The rest of the piece reached to the floor and was made of a fabric with a checkered pattern.

She wore a pair of black open-toed heels and accessorized it with a pair of gold earrings to match the rest of her ensemble.

Before the screening, she walked hand in hand with the other judges.

Jeanne du Barry has become known as Johnny Depp’s comeback movie after his victory over ex-wife Amber Heard in a defamation lawsuit.

The 59-year-old actor appeared on the big screen for the first time in three years on Tuesday during the world premiere of the film, which was released in cinemas in France the same day.

Johnny previously appeared as King Louis XV in promo images for his highly anticipated movie released in January.

The veteran actor looked regal as the French monarch alongside co-star/director Maiwenn Le Besco, who plays King Louis’s mistress, Jeanne du Barry.

Instead of his trademark dark brown locks, Johnny flaunts silver hair and King Louis’s famous triangular hats and elaborate royal attire in the images.

Louis XV ruled France from 1715 until his death in 1774. He was married to Queen of France, Marie Leczinska, but had several long-term affairs. Jeanne was his last lover before he died.

The long-awaited historical piece was recorded in the summer.

This is not only his career comeback, but also Depp’s first film in French.

It comes after Brie and her Fast X co-stars Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez said they would “love” to make an all-female Fast and Furious spin-off movie.

For the past few weeks, the actresses have been promoting Fast X, the tenth installment of the series, and not only are they happy to work together, they also think a female-focused action film would be good for the wider film industry.

Brie discussed the prospect Entertainment tonight“I don’t think we’d be mad at something where ladies are all involved.

“It was very clear that we would like to spend more time together.”
