MasterChef fans baffled by ‘weird’ detail during episode as show suffers an ‘editing fail’

MasterChef Australia fans were shocked by what initially appeared to be an editing error during the show’s Monday episode.

When former contestant and fan favorite Poh Ling Yeow, 49, made a cameo appearance to present the “mystery box” challenge, viewers were left scratching their heads when they noticed that half of the cast was missing.

Many flocked to social media to point out the bizarre detail, with many not realizing that eight cast members had been affected by Covid-19 during filming.

‘Where are all the participants? Am I missing something,” one person wrote.

“This season is weird, no idea what’s happening – think they’re cutting bits – can’t get into it,” added another.

“Eight participants with covid?” Another tweeted alongside a GIF.

Judge Melissa Leong had explained that Covid-19 was to blame, telling the remaining contestants, “Welcome to a brand new week in the MasterChef kitchen. As you can see, a few participants are still missing today. Covid strikes again. But, in lighter news, you survived your first elimination!’

The sick contestants remained in isolation as the show continued filming at the time.

The media personality was slated for several publicity assignments for season 15 of MasterChef when he passed away suddenly.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that when police entered the hotel room to conduct a welfare check, officers believed Zonfrillo had died of natural causes and found nothing to suggest otherwise.
