Sources close to Prince Andrew claim he has ‘no plans’ to vacate Royal Lodge for William and Kate

Prince Andrew ‘demands top with Charles’ as friends say he has ‘no plans’ to have the King push him out of his Royal Lodge home to move William and Kate in as he is determined to spend ‘the remaining 55 years looking out for his lease, sources claim

Prince Andrew has reportedly demanded a face-to-face summit with King Charles after sources close to him claimed he has ‘no plans’ to leave his Royal Lodge home for Prince William and Kate.

It comes amid reports that King Charles had told his royal brother to vacate the 98-acre estate – his home of more than 20 years.

But Andrew is reportedly planning to honor the lease he signed in 2003 by refusing to vacate the £30 million mansion, and is determined to carry out the remainder of his 75-year lease.

According to The Telegrapha source close to the disgraced duke, 63, last night dismissed reports suggesting he has “fears the royals will cut utilities to get him out.”

A friend told the Mail On Sunday that Andrew is feeling dejected and ‘refuses to part with’ the estate, which is believed to be reserved for the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children.

“He’s so vulnerable,” the friend told the Mail.

‘He refuses to see anyone. This has been his family home for the past 20 years. Is it really wise to kick him out?’

They added: “He is concerned that now that the coronation is over, the knives are out. He is afraid that the royals will even cut the utilities to get him out of there. But we’re dealing with people, not real estate.’

But a source close to the duke said he did not recognize the claims, adding: “He is on a 75-year lease and has no plans to move.”

Earlier this year, King Charles cut his brother’s annual allowance of £249,000, leaving him unable to pay the running costs of the 30-room mansion.

Andrew moved into the luxury home after the Queen Mother’s death in 2002.

It is understood that the Palace had initially said the Yorks would have to vacate the premises – which they are renting – by September, but authorities now accept that such a tight timetable is unrealistic.

Meanwhile, Frogmore Cottage, renovated to a high standard, became vacant after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, left to live in California.

Negotiations on Royal Lodge – which began under the reign of the late Queen – are continuing. It’s clear Andrew is frustrated that the conversations are between officials rather than brothers – and he wants that to change.
