Archer’s superspy adventures are finally coming to an end after the series’ 14th season

Sterling Archer, the world’s greatest secret agent, finally hangs up his tact lens after 14 years. The FX animated series, which originally began in 2009, is coming to a close with Season 14, the network announced Monday.

The show’s final season will bring it a little closer to its roots Archer back in the field as a regular spy, with Lana now running the show. FX has yet to share any details on exactly how the series will end.

Archer began after the misadventures of a team of spies working for the independent clandestine organization ISIS – though that name has changed in recent seasons for geopolitical reasons. But after the fourth season of the series, things changed dramatically Sagittarius Viceand gave itself a new 1980s aesthetic. Since then, the series has changed things up many times, disappearing for odd-themed seasons, including a Noir season — though the seasons rarely matched the comedic highs of the first few years of the series.

Archer Season 14 debuts on FXX on August 30 and comes to Hulu the following day.
