The Little Mermaid’s Halle Bailey stuns at the UK premiere

It is the highly anticipated live-action remake of the Disney classic.

And as the Little Mermaid premiere rolled into town in London, as did the star-studded cast, they took to the red carpet at the Odeon Luxe Cinema in Leicester Square on Monday to celebrate the film’s release.

Lead actress Halle Bailey, who plays mermaid Ariel, looked nothing short of sensational as she graced the screening alongside her glamorous co-stars Melissa McCarthy and Simone Ashley.

Actress Halle, 23, slipped into a plunging neckline white dress that was the perfect choice for the evening as she was inspired by a seashell and featured dazzling diamond detailing all over.

She styled the outfit with a beautiful sparkly headpiece and a pair of earrings, while sporting flawless makeup that only enhanced her natural beauty.

Halle appeared in high spirits waving and smiling for cameras, all while standing against an incredible backdrop of a seascape themed as the Little Mermaid.

The American star was joined by her on-screen love Jonah Hauer-King, who plays Prince Eric, while the co-stars were pictured in a sweet embrace on the red carpet.

Jonah, 27, looked seriously smart for the occasion in a smart beige double-breasted suit jacket, which he paired with matching trousers and a cream shirt and tie.

Every Disney classic needs its villain, this time in the form of Melissa’s sea witch character Ursula.

However, Melissa, 52, looked anything but villainous as she took to the red carpet in an incredible fuchsia ruffle dress paired with a selection of silver necklaces.

Directed by Rob Marshall, whose previous films include Chicago and Memoirs Of A Geisha, the new remake of The Little Mermaid has a brilliant cast.

Hamilton alum Daveed Diggs, former child star Jacob Tremblay, Crazy Rich Asians actress Awkwafina and comedy icon Melissa McCarthy are all part of the project.

Noma Dumezweni, who rose to international fame as Hermione in the original cast of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, plays a new role conceived for the remake.

The Little Mermaid is the beloved fairy tale of Ariel, a beautiful and feisty young mermaid with a thirst for adventure, based on the classic tale by Hans Christen Anderson.

Ariel, the youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most rebellious, longs to learn more about the world beyond the sea and falls for the impetuous Prince Eric while visiting the surface.

Although mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, allowing her to experience life on land, but ends up putting her life – and her father’s crown – in danger.
