The ambush attack occurred Friday night in the Northridge area when a man called police saying someone had parked in front of his home and started shooting at him.

The incident was captured on the man’s doorbell camera and shows him speeding away in his vehicle after the gunshots rang out.

The apparent ambush occurred around 6 p.m. Friday when the man told officers he was coming home to a suspicious-looking vehicle parked outside his home.

“I saw a suspicious vehicle parked in front of our neighbor’s house, parked quite far from the curb, so it was very unusual to see a vehicle parked that way,” the victim said.

The video caught the homeowner — who asked local media not to be identified for his own safety — pulling into his circular driveway in his black car.

Video shows the homeowner pulling into his car before hearing the gunshots and pulling out of his private driveway on the 9600 block of Texhoma Avenue.

“A gentleman jumped from the backseat wearing a hoodie and a bandana,” the victim said KTLA.

“I just saw him stand up and point a black pistol with a long silencer forward. So I immediately closed my door and accelerated and jumped over the curb,” he continued.

The man told the outlet that he jumped the curb while fleeing from the gunman.

The unknown gunman briefly runs after the homeowner’s car before jumping back into his own car and chasing after him.

Fortunately, the homeowner said neither he nor his children were injured in the shooting.

“One of the bullets hit the back of my car, the second hit the tree in front of my house, the third hit the neighbor’s bedroom window,” he said.

He said he has no idea why, but he believes he was targeted.

“The way they left the house, the way they stopped, the way they got out of the car,” he said of the incident.

“They tried to shoot at me as I was driving away and then they tried to follow me. Thank God I was able to drive fast and get away and contact the police,” he continued.

The man and police are now asking the public for information as the homeowner says he and his family are still reeling.

“Of course my kids are terrified they had to go through this. My wife, she is very upset. It’s a very unsafe situation,” he said.

“It’s a very nerve-wracking situation,” he continued.

The shooter is described as a black man, 5 feet 8 inches tall.

He weighs about 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a black mask and black clothing.

Police said the weapon used was a semi-automatic pistol and the vehicle was a tan sedan.

The homeowner is offering a $100,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.
