I tried to sneak late into a Zoom meeting – but my quirky filter gave it away

A woman who tried to sneak into a work meeting late has revealed the hilarious accident that betrayed her.

Emily, a US-based TikTok user, revealed on the social media platform that she reduced her colleagues – and herself – to stitches after attending the videoconference meeting with a moustachioed mushroom filter on her face.

A clipwhich has now amassed over 9.7 million views, showed how her colleagues, including her boss, were sent into uncontrollable fits of laughter when Emily appeared on their screen with the quirky filter on.

The clip was made even funnier by the fact that Emily herself – who was trying to play it cool so no one saw her late arrival – didn’t notice the filter on her face until moments later.

She was inundated with comments telling her how funny the whole situation was after she shared the video online.

“When you try to sneak into a meeting late but God has other plans,” Emily captioned the video as she shared it on the social media platform, adding, “Why am I like this? Thanks to all my colleagues who SAY NOTHING.’

Emily arrived late to the meeting, it was already in full swing and there were several people with stone faces on their screens.

But much of the employees’ focused determination faded into fits of laughter as Emily tuned into the meeting, unaware she had a filter.

The filter showed that she was wearing a mushroom hat and a small white moustache, but the employee did not notice that it was gone and continued as if nothing had happened.

But while Emily remained poker-faced, her on-screen colleagues gradually descended into hilarity as they couldn’t hide their on-screen fits of laughter.

Finally, when she finally clocked her filter, Emily hid her mouth behind her hand in shock – the tiny mustache still in sight.

Emily saw the funny side and quickly uploaded the clip of the gathering to TikTok, where thousands of people flooded her with comments.

People thought the video was hilarious, especially the fact that people tried to keep their faces up but couldn’t

“I’ve watched this 100 times and cry harder every time,” said one.
