Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann are ‘avoiding each other’ while living together in Georgia mansion

Kim Zolciak still lives with her estranged husband Kroy Biermann, even after officially filing for divorce after 11 years of marriage.

The 44-year-old Real Housewives of Atlanta star and the 37-year-old former NFL player are “dodging each other” while living together in their Georgia home, an insider told Us weekly.

“It’s a big house,” the source added. Their four children Kroy Jagger (KJ), 11, Kash, 10, and twins Kaia and Kane, 9, are also at the mansion.

The shocking divorce news came on Monday amid reports the couple was facing financial trouble, reportedly owing the IRS $1.1. million in unpaid taxes.

The shared house went into effect in February TMZbut they have not moved.

Kim is said to have listed her divorce date from the ex-NFL star on April 30, according to the outlet.

She filed the paperwork, stating that the marriage is “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation,” the outlet noted.

The star asks for some physical custody and Kroy gets a visit, according to TMZ.

The outlet also reported that she had filed for spousal support and requested legal reinstatement of her maiden name.

However, Kroy also filed for divorce, asking for only physical custody and only legal custody.

He also requested possession of the house, asked Kim to leave and asked her to keep all financial documents amid their tax troubles.

The reason behind their split seems to be primarily their financial problems, according to a source at People.

The insider revealed that Kim has been planning to divorce Kroy for a “long time,” and hasn’t told any family or friends.

“The money has been a huge problem. The million dollar tax [payment] was just way too much pressure on them,” the source said.

It also added, “There is no cheating on either side. The money has a lot to do with the split, but there were other factors. He is managing [the family] for a long time, so technically he did have a job. They are not on good terms at the moment.”

Kim and the former Atlanta Falcons NFL star first met in 2010 after crossing paths at the Dancing With Atlanta Stars charity event.

They tied the knot a year later, on November 11, 2011.

Once married, Kroy also legally adopted Kim’s daughters from her previous relationships, Brielle, 26, as well as Ariana, 21, who the reality star shares with ex-husband, Daniel Toce.

The break comes just after it was revealed that Kim and Kroy reportedly owe the IRS $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, penalties and interest, according to TMZ.

Kim and Kroy would not have paid in 2013, 2017 and before 2018.

The reality stars also reportedly owe the state of Georgia $15,000 in unpaid taxes as of 2018.

In February, Kim took to social media to brag about her ornate living room, complete with a dazzling chandelier — despite it being in foreclosure.

“This is definitely one of my most favorite rooms, the Hollywood room,” the mother-of-six said in an Instagram video, which rotated through her salon.

She continued, “That chandelier is seven—almost eight feet wide and eight feet high.”

The TV personality then mused on all the “fun” times her family shared in that room before pointing out a shiny gold balloon stuck in the lamp.

Her post comes on the same day a source told People that the reality star is “telling everyone” that the foreclosure is “a misunderstanding” and that it is “being resolved.”

“She’s not moving,” the insider added.

The TV personality and former professional NFL player initially purchased the home in 2012 for $880,000.

Their property now costs between $2.5 and $2.6 million, according to the outlet.

The lavish estate has been featured in both the Real Housewives and Kim’s own reality show titled Don’t Be Tardy, which aired for a total of eight seasons.

Truist Bank has been asked to handle the home’s foreclosure, and the action reportedly began in August when the couple failed to pay their $1.65 million mortgage.

According to TMZ, the five-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bathroom townhouse sits comfortably near the 18th hole of the Manor Golf and Country Club, just north of the bustling city of Atlanta.

The front of the house has a spacious circular driveway and has an inviting appearance with beautiful brickwork on the outside.

During her own reality show Don’t Be Tardy, which first aired in 2012 with the original title Don’t Be Tardy For The Wedding, Kim gave a tour of the mansion.
