Shakira brands Tom Cruise dating rumours ‘hilarious’

He may be one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors, but it seems that even Tom Cruise still gets rejected.

Days after the Oscar nominee allegedly set his sights on a relationship with Shakira, the Colombian singer has hit him back.

According to Us weeklythe Hips Don’t Lie singer finds the rumors “hilarious” and despite having a “nice” time with Tom when they met at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami, she has no plans to take it further.

The rumor mill kicked into gear last weekend when the pair were photographed together at the sporting event, with sources claiming the A-list actor, 60, is “deeply interested in pursuing” Shakira, 46.

However, an insider has now revealed: “Shakira had a great time with Tom in F1, but she has no interest in dating him.”

They further explained that the singer is currently taking a dating break after her 11-year relationship with Gerard Pique came to an end in June.

The insider continued, “Tom was very nice and she enjoyed his company, but she is not focused on dating him or anyone else at the moment. She has a lot on her plate and is focused on her kids and career for now.

Shakira has seen the online rumors that Tom has been courting her – and how fans are voicing their opinions – but she thinks it’s hilarious because it’s just not true. She had a good time when they chatted, but that was it.’

After pictures of Shakira and Tom surfaced, a source told Paige Six that the actor is “extremely interested in pursuing” Shakira because “there’s chemistry” between the pair.

The Hollywood veteran sent flowers to the Everywhere performer after they crossed paths at the South Florida auto racing event Sunday, the outlet reported.

They remarked about the stars, “And she’s no taller than him,” as the Top Gun: Maverick star is 5 feet 8 inches tall, while the Grammy winner is 5 feet 8 inches tall.

Tom is the father of three children: Isabella, 30, and Connor, 28, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman; and Suri, 17, with ex-wife Katie Holmes.

Shakira is mother to children Milan, 10, and Sasha, eight, with Gerard.

Earlier this month, Shakira emotionally discussed relationships following her painful split with the Spanish former footballer.
