A man has been left in critical condition after being shot in the groin following an alleged carjacking.
The driver and his passenger pulled up on the side of the road in a Mitsubishi Triton in Dalby, west of Brisbane, at 8.30am on Thursday.
Two men, aged 30 and 33, then approached the vehicle before a fight broke out and the driver was reportedly shot in the groin.
Detective Jason Kitto said the men demanded the keys to the vehicle.

“The victim has since been flown from Dalby to Toowoomba Hospital and is currently receiving treatment,” he said.
“The victim’s injury is not life-threatening at this time.”
Queensland Police said the two groups do not know each other.
The two men fled the scene in the Triton and police launched a manhunt for the couple.
The Triton was spotted on the Warrego Highway en route to Toowoomba, with police intervening by using tire spikes to slow the ute down.
Queensland Police say the pair went ahead before attacking a man on a motorcycle at a Toowoomba intersection.
The rider sustained minor injuries and was transported to Toowoomba Hospital in stable condition.
“The male rider of that motorcycle was treated at the scene by [paramedics]”I understand he is currently seeking further treatment for minor injuries,” Inspector Kitto said.
Both men were taken into custody around 10 a.m., with police reportedly finding two guns in the ute.
The police are calling on witnesses or people with dashcam or camera footage of the incidents to report.
