Channel Nine presenter Airlie Walsh has welcomed her first child with partner Tom Ferrier.
The TV journalist announced on Wednesday that she gave birth to a baby boy named Peter William Ferrier.
Posting to Instagram, Airlie shared a gorgeous photo of herself holding her newborn son in hospital.
The black and white photo shows the new mother looking very emotional as she holds her child for the first time, four days after he was born.
She captioned the image, “I will never take this feeling for granted. Four days after he burst into the world, my first hug with Peter William Ferrier.’

Friends and fans of the presenter flocked to the comments to congratulate her and her partner on their new arrival.
Airlie’s Channel Nine colleague Lizzie Pearl commented: ‘Little Petey…we love you already ❤️…well done mummy Airs…big love to you and @tomferrier’.
A friend of the couple wrote: ‘P-Boy! We all love you so much already! You are a lucky little fellow… the most beautiful mother and an adoring father. What a wonderful life you have to look forward to.’

While working in the Channel Nine editorial office, she shared a photo of her growing baby bump, writing: ‘It’s not easy to dress a big bump. #28weeks #third trimester.’
