Easy dinner ideas: Home cook shares Chicken Tonight slow cooker silverside two ingredient recipe

Home chef shares her recipe for the easiest two-ingredient meal yet — but it’s not for everyone!

  • A home cook shared a quick and easy slow cooked dinner
  • But she was ridiculed by hundreds online for a photo of the ingredients

A home cook was praised by thousands after sharing “the easiest” two-ingredient meal hack yet, but not everyone was convinced.

The woman prepared slow-cooked honey mustard with just beef and a jar of Chicken Tonight sauce.

To prepare the meal, the woman simply combined the ingredients in the appliance and let it cook for eight hours before serving it up with a side of mixed vegetables.

She dubbed the dish “honey mustard silver jar” and seemed excited to start a trend when her post on a popular Facebook page took off.

More than 3,000 people liked and commented on the “recipe,” with one “busy person” promising to try it right away.

“I’m old fashioned when it comes to silverside, but I’d give this a try,” said another.

One person who made the dish confirmed: ‘This is the BEST combination ever!!’

The home cook posted a photo next to the cooking tip showing a piece of meat and the pot in a slow cooker.

And while many people praised the dish, others slammed the cook and her “method.”

“I hope I don’t eat the jar,” one wrote, another said, “Leave it in the jar?”

A third wrote, “I feel like you should take it out of the jar – sealed jar plus heat won’t end well.”

Others seemed disturbed by the fact that no water or other ingredients were added to the slow cooker.

Others teased her for her choice of words.

“I started a trend — this is Chicken Tonight, not Chanel,” they laughed.

Despite the mixed opinions, the end result looked appetizing and was paired with vegetables

Bake the chicken first in an oven or an airfryer and fry carrot, onion and broccoli in a pan.

Mix the sauce with the sauteed vegetables, add the chicken and serve with boiled or steamed rice.

“Much more wallet-friendly for our household than ordering takeout,” she said.
