Beverly D’Angelo opens up about longtime relationship with Al Pacino … who she shares twins with

Beverly D’Angelo opened up about her long-term relationship with actor Al Pacino in a Instagram message Monday.

The 71-year-old actress said she decided to share details about her relationship with the Scarface actor, 83, after her “dm box was full of questions” on the subject.

“My story with Al began 27 years ago, when two artists met and fell in love,” says D’Angelo, who is mom to 22-year-old twins Olivia Pacino and Anton James Pacino with the Oscar-winning actor.

D’Angelo, who played Ellen Griswold in the National Lampoon’s Vacation franchise, said they “lived together for seven years, had two kids,” and eventually “divorced.”

Despite their breakup, she wrote, “they carried on steadily [their] journey as fellow parents- and came to share [their] lives with a deeper kind of intimacy, honesty and acceptance than a ‘traditional’ relationship would have allowed.’

D’Angelo said she and Pacino bonded over their mutual passion for their craft.

“We’ve always been connected on a creative level — our conversations about acting, the quest/need for expression — that’s a conversation that started in 96 and continues to this day,” she said.

D’Angelo, who appeared on the CBS series True Lies, called her relationship with the Dog Day Afternoon actor “unique” and “encompasses a wide breadth/depth of experiences and emotions, through thick and thin, a true friendship.” ‘.

She added: “There are infinite layers to any intimate relationship – and for me Instagram isn’t the place to really go into detail… but I want to make sure you know I see and hear you, so this video is a little bare bones primer in answer to your questions.’

She added that she mostly got her kids’ approval before posting their photos and story on social media.

D’Angelo opened up about her start with the House of Gucci actor in the clip, saying, “I lived with Al for seven years and we have two kids; in 1996 we were on the same plane from Los Angeles to New York.

“He sat across from me, he said come sit next to me and by the time the plane landed it was done.”

She said the following year, “He looked me in the eye and said, ‘I want you to be the mother of my children.'”

She continued, “Even though I had avoided that role all my life, I was deeply in love and was 100 percent into it.”

She said they completed a round of in vitro fertilization in 1997, and “with great effort and the wonders of modern science” they welcomed their twins in 2001.
