A baby girl has been found dead in a Queensland home, sparking an investigation.
Emergency services were called to a home in Mermaid Beach, a coastal suburb on the Gold Coast, just after 8am on Tuesday morning.
The age of the baby is unknown.
Police have cordoned off a crime scene and are investigating the cause of death.

“Police are investigating the sudden death of a baby this morning at Mermaid Beach,” a Queensland Police spokeswoman said.
Just after 8 a.m., police were called to a residence after a young girl died.
“A crime scene has been declared while the cause of death is being investigated.”
