Real Madrid star Eden Hazard ‘considering RETIRING’ when £470k-a-week contract ends

Eden Hazard ‘seriously considering retiring’ when his £470,000-a-week deal with Real Madrid expires next year and ‘feels he has done everything he could in football’… but ‘leave the door open if he gets a great offer’ amid links to the MLS

  • Hazard could reportedly retire when his contract with Real Madrid expires in 2024
  • The winger played only 337 minutes of football this season, a low point in his career
  • The 32-year-old has been linked with a move to the MLS and Saudi Arabia

Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard is said to be “seriously considering retirement” when his contract with Los Blancos expires.

This comes as Relev report that the winger “feels he has done everything he could in football” and could hang up his boots in 2024, “once he ends his podium in white”.

It was Hazard’s childhood dream to play for Los Blancos, but things have not gone as planned since his move to La Liga, with the Chelsea legend suffering a string of injuries that affected playing time.

With the Belgian recently retired from international duty, the report continues to state that he believes he has achieved all he can in football and will consider retiring.

However, the 32-year-old leaves “the door open if he gets a nice offer that allows him to enjoy football again.”

It remains to be seen whether the winger will want to play again once his Madrid contract expires, admitting he will remain a Los Blancos player until 2024.

“It’s been a difficult year, but with a very big team,” said Hazard after playing just 337 minutes this season.

Hazard has recently been linked with a move to the MLS and it is believed he would be interested in playing in North America if an offer is made.

Earlier this year, it was alleged that he had held talks with Al-Nassr about joining Cristiano Ronaldo on the Saudi Arabian side.

Former Real Madrid star Gareth Bale opted for a final chapter of his career in the MLS, signing with LAFC before announcing his retirement this year at the age of 33.

Another Real Madrid legend, Mesut Özil, also retired early from his career, hanging up his boots in March at the age of 34.

Hazard could become the third player to end his career early after a spell at Real Madrid and follow in the pair’s footsteps.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the former Premier League Player of the Season winner, but his legacy in England will outweigh what he has done in La Liga.
