Paloma Faith makes a statement in two kooky looks at Coronation Concert

Paloma Faith made a statement about climate change in a crazy ruffled dress before changing into a bright pink dress with giant sleeves during the coronation concert.

The singer, 41, who is known for her eclectic sense of style, showed off two quirky looks on Sunday, both complete with long latex gloves at Windsor Castle.

Paloma posed for photos on the red carpet ahead of her performance, slipping into a gray satin dress with a voluminous tiered skirt and black net underlay.

She rounded off the punky look with a “climate” graphic T-shirt from the archives of the late Vivienne Westwood as a tribute to King Charles’ environmental work.

Paloma wore a studded leather choker and styled her platinum blonde hair in an updo.

As she took the stage and entertained the 20,000 strong crowd, she changed into her second striking look and sang her song Lullaby.

In conversation with Dermot O’Leary BBC Radio 2, prior to her performance, she said, “I feel privileged to be here. I came here for two specific reasons.

“One is I think the work King Charles is doing on climate is very important and as you can see I’m wearing a ‘climate’ t-shirt because the late Vivienne Westwood was actually a big fan of his as well, who sadly passed away.

This is one of her records. I think it’s an important tribute to his work.

‘And also when I was a child growing up in Hackney, I received a scholarship from Prince’s Trust. So I feel like it’s all part of saying “thank you” kind of.

As the coronation concert got underway, Nicole Scherzinger sang a hit Disney hit, Olly Murs took the stage to show off his moves and Steve Winwood sang to a cheering audience.

The excitement was palpable as celebrations for the King and Queen’s coronation kicked off again in the star-studded show hosted by Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville.

Olly Murs delivered an energetic rendition of his hit Dance With Me Tonight, while Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Scherzinger opted for a rendition of Reflection, which was written and produced for Disney’s 1998 animated film Mulan.

The powerful performance drew applause from both the King and Queen – after which Charles turned to the Queen to say a few words.

Paloma, veteran rock guitarist Steve Winwood and classic acts such as Andrea Bocelli, Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel and Chinese pianist Lang Lang were also on the programme.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise, Dynasty actress Dame Joan Collins, adventurer Bear Grylls, singer Sir Tom Jones and former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse will also be featured via video.

Scherzinger, who was accompanied by pianist Lang Lang, said backstage ahead of the event that she felt “overjoyed” and “honored” to take the stage.
