BrikWars’ definitive book lets you play Warhammer 40K with Lego

Whether it’s an old-fashioned pack of Lego or a long-running one Minecraft world, there is no denying that people love bricks. There’s something about the experience of snapping bricks together and turning them into something bigger that delights our primordial lizard brains. Brick Wars is a wargame built on this simple pleasure, and a new final release of the game is coming soon with balance changes based on player feedback, along with new artwork and other bonuses.

Brick Wars is a wargame created by Mike Rayhawk, first released in 1995. It combines the strategy and army building of a game like Warhammer 40,000 with the simple pleasure of building with bricks. Players can build their own armies, vehicles and heroes using construction toys. It’s a natural extension of kids’ tendency to dump all their toys on the carpet and have Wolverine fight Goku. The game is designed to combine high-level strategy with a carefree, creative, and low-cost atmosphere.

Pre-orders for this edition of Brick Wars will be available “soon” through publisher Modiphius Entertainment’s website and at your local game store, the company said in a press release, though it did not give an exact date for pre-orders or the book’s release. The book contains a lot of custom weapons and skills, dozens of specialists to help turn the tide of battle, a combat system, knowledge about the Brick Wars universe and vibrant artwork by Rayhawk himself.
