Tom Brady has branded reports he could retire from his 10-year, $375 million role as NFL analyst for Fox “fake news.”
Brady made the comments Friday on Instagram, in response to a Sports Illustrated post about a report that first appeared in the New York Post.
Brady, 45, retired again in February, but insisted that this time he was actually stepping out of football for good.
As it stands, Brady is not expected to enter his deal with Fox until 2024. It is believed that during the 2023 season, he will want to take time out for himself later this year while he adjusts to life outside the game.
“Decompression is very important,” Brady said when asked if he wanted to take some time off.

“You’ve been on this really crazy treadmill, hamster wheel, for a long time, enjoying the moment and the journey,” Brady continued. At the same time, it is a daily battle.
“I appreciate so many people who are so committed every day to showing up, to give their very best in their lives and careers.
“For me, I want to be good at what I do — talk, even last week, to the people at Fox Sports and the leadership there, which will allow me to start my Fox opportunity in 2024, which is something that’s great for me.
“So take the time to really learn, get good at what I want to do, get good at thinking about the possibility, and make sure I don’t rush anything.”
Speaking in January at his Let’s Go! podcast Brady outlined how much he looks forward to getting started as an analyst.
“There’s so much to learn, there’s so much to teach, you know, it’s constantly evolving,” he said. “Believe me, as much as you may think I want to teach people, I am really looking to learn.
“I’m really looking to learn from all the people I can talk to. I will have the opportunity to get a job in the future where I can travel around and learn from all the other people I looked up to and admired and different organizations and different people.
“So it’s exciting for me too. I feel like the chance to do that is something I really look forward to when the time comes.”

Brady has previously spoken of his excitement about moving into NFL analyst work at Fox
Brady retired in February after his Tampa Bay Buccaneers team was defeated in the playoffs by the Dallas Cowboys.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner has even been linked to a second retirement in recent weeks.
Brady showed up at a technical event in Mimaim and unemotionally rejected a suggestion that he could come out of retirement and play for the Dolphins.
‘Oh dude. I will say, now that I’m not affiliated with any team and I have strong ties to a few teams, I have some friends in the Dolphins that I really like,” he said.
“I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m always rooting for them, but I advocate that my friends are doing well, and some of them are playing for Miami.”
