While filming on Back in Action continues without him, MailOnline reviews what happened. Here’s everything we know so far…
Health: Jamie Foxx was hospitalized three weeks ago after a ‘medical complication’
Recovery: The actor, 55, is in a medical facility in Georgia where he is undergoing tests, People confirmed Monday, after falling ill on April 11
Jamie’s health scare was revealed by his daughter Corinne Foxx, 29, who shared the news on Instagram, writing: ‘We wanted to share that my dad, Jamie Foxx, had a medical complication yesterday.
‘Fortunately, he is already on his way to recovery through quick action and good care. We know how loved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Lots of love, The Foxx Family.”
While his family has shared news of his health problems, they have not provided any details.
Few details were shared and it’s unclear what symptoms the Oscar winner was suffering from, or what led to him being taken to hospital.
Despite his family’s statement that his condition is improving, there is no word yet on when he will be able to leave the hospital or return to filming.
Meanwhile, a source described the issue to TMZ in more serious terms, calling it a “medical emergency,” though they said Jamie was now “communicating” again.
They added to the publication that Jamie needs “all the prayers and well wishes his fans can muster.”
Last Friday, People spoke to a source who confirmed that Foxx (born Eric Bishop) was “awake and alert” in a “Georgia medical facility.”

“He’s fine, thank God,” the source said. “He’s still in the hospital and the doctors are running tests, but he’s awake and alert. They’re watching him.’
This week, the Oscar-winning actor took to Instagram with a message that read, “Appreciate all the love, feel blessed,” followed by praying hands, heart and fox emojis.
The star also gave a shout-out to friend Nick Cannon who has done hosting duties for him on the popular game show Beat Shazam.
Jamie’s daughter Corinne serves as a DJ on the programme, but will also be stepping down to help her famous father recover.
Foxx reposted a post from Corinne about Nick taking over the presenting mantle, writing on his stories, “Appreciate you my boy @nickcannon, goodbye.”
Corinne will be replaced by Kelly Osbourne who recently shared a video of the DJ booth on the set of the reality competition show.
Jamie recently visited Atlanta, Georgia where he filmed the action comedy Back In Action.

The film has been marketed as the return to acting for his costar Cameron Diaz, whom he helped lure back for the film, though she is reportedly planning to retire for good after a series of disasters on the film set.
Glenn Close also appears in the film.
His last film shoot in Atlanta seems to have been a surprisingly stressful ordeal for the Baby Driver actor, as well as his peers.
Last month it was reported that Foxx “had an absolute meltdown” while the film was being shot in the UK, leading to the firing of several people.
He reportedly landed an executive producer on the project, along with two directors and even his own driver.
According to The Sun, an employee was fired in connection with an apparent scam to gain access to £33,000 in cash from the actor, allegedly in connection with the sale of a Rolex watch.
There was even more drama when it was revealed that production was halted last month after an unexploded WWII-era bomb was discovered on the London film set just before two major action sequences were set to be filmed.
One thing after another: the shoot has reportedly been an effort for Foxx. He called the police and fired several crew members after allegedly being targeted for a scam
The shooting, which was initially intended to be Cameron’s triumphant return to the movie business, has instead become a nightmare for her and the rest of the cast.
A friend of Cameron’s exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com that she’ll probably retire for good once she wraps her comeback movie because of all the drama surrounding it, though she’s also apparently against the standard arguments and criticism that come with every movie set.
Few details about the film’s plot or characters have been revealed.
Photos from last Monday appeared to show Jamie coaching the women’s football team, but he and Cameron were seen on set in the UK last month filming action sequences in a snowy forest.
